I have a lifelong ministerial background having been a PK and YPK in my youth and having served as a Worship Pastor, Student Pastor and Lead Pastor through the years. My goal is to highlight the HUMAN side of our faith. To present spiritual and faith based concepts in life applicable ways to challenge, stretch and encourage.

My goal is to present the Gospel and the Christian faith in an engaging, life application focused manner. To speak to spiritual concepts and faith in way that is profound in its simplicity. I am energetic and very dynamic in my presentation style and frequently roam potentially even into the audience. From time to time I will ask for volunteers to assist in a demonstration to drive home a point or thought.
I have a flair for the dramatic and love to tell life lesson stories from my childhood, teen years and my adult life. In telling these stories I tend to be very animated and demonstrative. These are stories about parenting, pastoring, growing up and everything in between. Stories that are relatable yet demonstrate spiritual and life lessons that suddenly make sense.
I will always present the Gospel and will always offer an opportunity for someone to know Jesus. I will always close with an invitation to know Jesus, come to the altar, be prayed for, be counseled etc. I believe the altar is an important, under represented concept and will always invite people to come and "lay it on the altar" even if there is no physical altar present.
I grew up as a Pastors kid and Youth Pastors kid in rural South Eastern Missouri and far Western Kentucky. Growing up with those experiences I have seen ministry from behind the curtain my entire life. I was heavily involved in my youth group and began playing drums for the youth band at the age of 12, eventually transitioning onto the primary church worship team.
I moved out of my parents house at the age of 18 and for the next 3 years made a complete mess of life. violence, drug use, alcoholism and promiscuity were common during those 3 years and I eventually wound up homeless, living in my car and sleeping wherever I could. Eventually, this drove me to move back home at the age of 21.
I began attending church with my parents and recommitted my life to Christ shortly after moving home. I eventually married the Pastors daughter and proceeded to serve in multiple capacities inside the church as a Worship Pastor and Youth Pastor for nearly 10 years.
We eventually relocated to the Nashville TN area for my wife's professional career and I served as the Youth Pastor and on the worship team for our home church in Spring Hill TN.
In 2019 we moved back to Western Kentucky, with the blessing of our home church, to serve as Lead Pastors there. We served in this role for 3 years and seen the church grow from a small 20 member congregation to a growing and thriving church of 200 members. Through this time we led the church through the primary Covid crisis, exponential growth and an entire renaming of the church.
In December of 2019 a massive F4/F5 Tornado touched down outside of Jonesboro Arkansas and made its way through 3 states causing an incredible amount of destruction. This tornado went directly through our hometown in Kentucky and destroyed approximately 50% of the town. The church was also destroyed.
The emotional toll that was taken on my family and my marriage during the aftermath of the tornado became untenable and in July of 2019 I resigned as Pastor.
We relocated back to Spring Hill TN to heal. Heal emotionally, mentally and spiritually. We needed to heal as individuals and we needed to heal in our marriage. We returned to our home church in Spring Hill TN and have stayed on the sidelines as God done his work inside us to repair what was broken and damaged.
I started the Reality Sessions Podcast to share my story and share the incredible simplicity of faith. At the same time I began to look for opportunities to return to function in the calling of God and that is to share the Gospel.
Thank you for reading this brief Bio and I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to speak to your church, youth or community about the incredible simplicity of faith in Jesus.
Blessings
Ben
