Overview
I am a country artist as well as a singer/songwriter. I enjoy performing for any size room, be it small or large. 2 to 3 folks or thousands. I'm very much at home on stage and enjoy sharing what I love to do. I like to connect with my audience and just have fun! I do a mess of covers, mostly country, but I also do a few classic rock songs as well as a couple of bluesy tunes. I also do a few of my own songs that I wrote or co-wrote. I have a new album out that was released in June 2024 titled, "Drive On." Always looking' for opportunities to perform!

What to expect
When I perform, I like to engage the audience and have a good time sharing with them what I love to do. For me, "It's All About Touchin' Folks With The Music"! I like being real and personable with the crowd. I don't just sing; I bring it from the heart. I believe that all of us should have a blast and have fun whenever I play.
I don't try to sound like anyone else or copy what someone else may do in a show. What you see is what you get; a real down-to-earth performer that, loves to play and sing for the folks in the house.
Right now, I am a one man show: just me and my guitar, but given enough notice, I can pull a band together for any special events that need entertainment.
About
Ray Ligon is a country music artist and singer/songwriter originally from Miami, Florida. Having enlisted in the U.S. Army right out of high school, and having served a total of 6 years, he has lived many different places in his journey. He now resides in Western Kentucky.
When Ray was 13 years old, his Dad bought him his first guitar. He then taught himself to play and continued to learn from the multitude of artists he has had the pleasure of meeting along the way.
“It’s All About Touchin’ Folks With The Music! I have a passion for the music that I perform. I have been blessed in experiencing firsthand how many of my songs have spoken to the heart.”
Whether he is singing his original songs or some of his favorite cover songs, it is easy to recognize the depth of his convictions, his belief in what he does. With only his guitar and his voice, Ray takes you to places that seem distant, yet, so familiar.
Throughout his musical journey, Ray has garnered many accolades from many professionals and fans alike and has won countless awards. Ray is a member of the “Kentucky Country Music Association” and is a multiple KCMA “Entertainer of the Year”, “Male Vocalist of the Year”, and “Songwriter of the Year” winner.
In the “North America Country Music Associations, International” he is a multiple NACMAI “Entertainer of the Year”, “Male Vocalist of the Year”, and “Songwriter of the Year” winner.
Most recently, at NACMAI in Pigeon Forge, TN, Ray won “Country Album of the Year” for his new CD, “Drive On” as well as “Co-Songwriter of the Year” for “Cowboy Up”, co-written with Janet and Charles Cox.
Ray’s influences include many and varied artists. A few of them are James Taylor, John Denver, George Strait, Garth Brooks, and the list goes on.
Ray’s vocals may remind you of several artists, but his voice is undeniably unique. From the lows to the highs and everywhere in between, his voice resonates with passion, and emotional sincerity.
Additional booking notes
As far as a backline is concerned, I don't need much. Depending on the venue, all I need is a direct box and a microphone. I have my own gear if needed but, if it were a very large venue, I would obviously need the house to provide adequate sound and lighting. A boom mic stand would be essential.
