I’m a professional speaker who delivers inspiring, motivational keynotes and content around the theme of power and leadership. I also help businesses, organizations, and individuals understand domestic violence which impacts 1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men.
I have found that whether in my business life managing a sales and operations team entrusted with nearly a hundred million dollars in assets or in my ministry and nonprofit life sitting with a family shattered by violence or pain, issues of power often make or break us.
There are many inspirational speakers, but very few that I have heard or read who have Andy's insight. It is amazing, challenging, and refreshing. And it is so needed in these times of misguided, misapplied, and even unwittingly abusive ideas and actions of people in positions of leadership and power. Andy's wealth of experience is informed by thoughtful study of the principles and clear presentation of their practical application and powerful effect. I highly recommend him!

I deliver a variety of talks and workshops that center around power and leadership as well domestic violence awareness and preparedness. Here is a brief summary of my most popular talks:
EMPOWER > OVERPOWER: this talk is crafted with positional leaders in mind and draws on more than 200 1-on-1 interviews and a decade of studying power in leadership to deliver a dramatic, inspiring, practical challenge around the mindset, model, and mission of empowering leadership. It's adjoining workshops help leaders develop intentional interaction with their teams, increase retention, grow their people, and promote a healthy happy workplace.
DV 101: Adapted for audiences from college students to HR professionals to faith groups, this talk illuminates what domestic violence is, where it comes from, and what to do about it. Statistics tell us that more than 1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men experience DV. This can have devastating consequences for not only them but for the places that they work as well. But you don’t have to be unprepared.
POWER GIVER: This inspiring talk meets people exactly where they are and takes them on a journey to discover their own power and how to put it to work. It’s a clarion call to every person regardless of position to reclaim their sense of agency, rediscover their sense of significance, and realign their sense of purpose. When teammates are inspired to take the initiative in these areas, organizations will find that morale increases, teammates engage more with the organization and customer service improves.
POWER MULTIPLIED: This is a motivating, inspiring talk that encourages young adults to find their power and lead by example. In a fun, challenging way, the audience explores what it means to "be the CEO of you" by taking hold of your past, present, and future all the while building your values in such a way that you can give power to those around you.
FAITH AND DV: Does your staff know what to do when someone discloses abuse? Can they identify the red flags of domestic violence? Do they understand the spiritual questions and devastation that often accompany traumatic abuse. This talk helps faith and nonprofit leaders understand the intersection of faith and violence and build a context for spiritual and practical empowerment. Weaving the real life stories of victims and survivors of domestic violence throughout, audience members get an interactive exploration of the tragically common ways that faith is used to enable oppression but also holds the potential to aid survival and spark transformation.
More than a decade ago I began a career of walking with people through the best and worst times of their lives as a Lead Pastor. Early on I recieved a call from a women in crisis. When I arrived I found her covered in bruises trying to understand why her husband of 20 years would hurt her.
That experience set me on a journey to undertand power and how it’s used and misused. I became a domestic violence interventionist and educator conducting more than 200 1-on-1 interviews with violent offenders and facilitating hundreds of hours of educational and support groups with survivors.
The lessons I learned about power and leadership served me well when I moved into the finance industry managing a sales and operations team with direct responsibility for nearly a hundred million dollars in assets.
I continue to live out the principles of what I call being a power giver every day as a corporate manager and as a DV interventionist and educator. I have a passion to inspire leaders and teams to invigorate every normal day with extraordinary power giving.
