Few musicians play the hammered dulcimer. Fewer still sing while accompanying themselves on this fascinating instrument, whose name means “beautiful song.” I do both. I can do a concert with songs and instrumentals; or I can do strictly instrumental music for weddings, openings, and receptions of all kinds. Fascinated by the uncommon, trapezoidal- shaped hammered dulcimer, audiences call my music both soothing and energizing, reacting to the sweet sound of the dulcimer and the rhythmic nature of my playing. Acoustic, rooted in American social traditions, and toe-tapping fun.
