Overview
With 20+ years of professional experience as a singer and guitarist, I know how to create the PERFECT vibe for any event — the kind that leaves guests saying “that was amazing!” long after it’s over.
I perform a wide variety of music (250+ songs and counting!) and have played everywhere from restaurants and bars to corporate events, weddings, festivals, and some of the most renowned music venues across the country.
My style blends pop/rock, country, singer-songwriter, 90s jams, and classic rock — think John Mayer, The Beatles, Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, and Chris Stapleton. Whether you want a laid-back acoustic set or an upbeat sing-along vibe, I’ll help make your event feel unforgettable.

About
Phil Jacobson is a professional guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter with a degree in Studio Music & Jazz Vocal Performance from the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami. He launched his solo career with the 2010 EP Around It Goes, praised by the Miami New Times as “polished and perfectly balanced” and “an example of quality musicianship and sturdy songwriting.” In 2012, he recorded his follow up EP Love Right Now with GRAMMY and Latin GRAMMY-winning producer Dan Warner, releasing the project in early 2013.
From 2010–2012, Phil also performed as a background vocalist and rhythm guitarist with Jacob Jeffries, co-writing “Some & Others”, later featured on The Shades’ debut album Miles Made of Inches. In 2014, Phil co-founded The Shades alongside his brother Mark Jacobson and The Voice Season 11 semi-finalist Andrew DeMuro. Known for their inventive vocal arrangements and three-part harmonies, the group has headlined House of Blues Chicago, Navy Pier, City Winery, and Lincoln Hall, reaching thousands of live audience members. Their original music has earned national recognition, including features in American Songwriter Magazine, honors in NewSong Music’s International Songwriting Competition, and an exclusive (link hidden) premiere of their sophomore EP DRAW. In 2021, The Shades released Live Again, a trio of singles paired with a documentary chronicling their post-pandemic return to the stage. To date, their music has earned nearly one million combined Spotify streams and YouTube views.
Phil has performed over 1,500 shows nationwide, sharing the stage with artists such as Sugar Ray, Gin Blossoms, Eric Hutchinson, Kurt Elling, Jon Secada, Raul Midon, and Rita Wilson. In recognition of his professional contributions, he was accepted in 2018 as a Voting Member of the Recording Academy (GRAMMYs).
