Solid rock and roll/blues/country guitarist. Not flashy, good slide guitar, taught by Lee Roy Parnell. Can read Nashville charts and a quick study. Willing to gun or join a band, if the band is suitable. Reliable transportation, professional gear, professional attitude and ready to go.
I don't do solo gigs, rarely a duo, I'm more of a band guy.
I've wondered for years why this man and his vision of what the blues *ought* to sound like aren't internationally famous. He's a rock solid guitarist, funny as Hell, good to work with and has real talent.
He's played with various others, some very talented, and he manages to shine wherever he is. If your toes aren't tapping along, if you don't find yourself wanting to get up there *with* him to share that magic... you're not listening. Give him a holler. He will *not* disappoint!

Solid pro player, energetic singer and meaty solos. Not flashy but I serve the song, first, last and always. Baritone voice, and an eclectic musical salad.
I've been extremely fortunate to have been able to perform with some of the great names in the music biz over the last 40 years. Not all are friends but some are.
Lee Roy Parnell, Delbert McClinton, Bonnie Bramlett, Bekka Bramlett, Tommy Castro, Teresa James, Jimmy Hall, Big Joe Maher, Miles Zuniga, Raul Malo, Tab Benoit, Cyril Neville, Malford Milligan, Jo El Sonnier, Greg Martin, Wayne Toups, Heather Waters and Clay McClinton are some of the performers who’ve been kind enough to take me under their wing and share a stage with me. Lee Roy paid me the highest compliment when he told me, “If I get sick, I’m calling you.”
I began playing guitar longer ago than I'm willing to admit. I draw inspiration from any guitarist who reaches me. I am usually drawn to guitarists who serve the song and are very strong rhythm players. I can appreciate a good solo as much as anyone but my idea of a good solo tends to be short and sweet, serves the song and is not overly flashy. I've never been someone who felt a great need to show off. I tend to say what I have to say, then shut up and let someone else take over.
I use clones of '59 Fender amps (Deluxe for small venues, Super for larger). If something louder than the Super is needed, I always carry an SM57 to put the guitar in the PA. I work with a Line 6 wireless unit.
Lee Roy Parnell, Roy Buchanan, Vince Gill, Rob McNelley, John Entwistle, Pete Townshend, Duane Allman, Albert King, Leon McAuliffe, Stee Cropper, Leo Nocentelli, Jimmy Reed.
Nothing, really. If I'm playing rental gear, a Deluxe reverb reissue or a Marshall 18-watt (for small venues) or a JTM45 are preferred.
