What to expect

You are in for a treat. We are a live four piece band with original material and to boot we have merchandise to sell! We provide an atmosphere ranging in themes, everything from light-hearted fun to the dark brooding.

We come with our own gear and (if needed) a P.A. if the venue does not have one. We are the most punctual band you will ever meet. We also promote our shows and have a following.

We are here to engage the audience, so that they may engage us, before, during, and after the show. We like to think of our shows as social events. We're a friendly bunch and always looking for the next adventure. We will enchant, entertain, and seduce you into our eclectic lot songs. Sometimes, we even do a cover. At any rate, we are kind, professional, and looking forward to meeting you.

About

Our songs were initially born out of heart ache, strife; the things that seem to stand in our way sometimes. We're among the few groups that are not afraid of being vulnerable when it comes to songwriting. On the other hand there is a sense of humor with the group. We ponder the extensional with a twist of good fun. Music is what gives us meaning, as it acts as our therapist. Our offer to you is to return the favor. Everyone has "a moment".

Peeling Grey was formed in 2008. As songs took shape, a string of live shows all over the Los Angeles area slowly kick-started local interest in the band, particularly from the underground Indie, Post Punk, and Goth scenes.

“The World’s Not Sorry” was released in February of 2011. The record release event at Bordello was another milestone in Peeling Grey’s growing local popularity, commanding a respectable turnout. Greg Reely known for his work with Sarah McLachlan, Front Line Assembly, and Skinny Puppy is noted for the mastering of “TWNS”.

The music video. “James Quarterly” would focus on the intended storyline depicted in the lyrics, and premiere at Release the Bats, April of 2012. A follow-up recording to “TWNS” titled “Broken Glass” was released shortly after the “JQ” video. The single would be a departure from the group’s previous sound, unveiled in July, 2012.

Their second music video, “Rumors” was released in late December of that year; a bold departure in both style and sound, it was warmly received and recognized for the change of pace for the group.

In 2014 the group would go on to play Convergence 20 in Chicago in April and WGT’s Cure Party in Leipzig, Germany in June. Both shows were landmarks in the band’s career, playing in front of packed halls and increasing their following. 2015 brings their sophomore (full length) release, “Our Sky’s Falling”.

Peeling Grey has their sights set on further developing their sound that is routed in Post Punk. Despite their routes and influences that span many facets of that era, the group looks towards the future of music…..Akin to the original spirit of the past.
