Luminitza Nichols was born in communist Romania and began her faith journey in the underground church. When she was 19, Lumi went to prison for her faith and was sentenced to death during the communist uprising of 1989. After the fall of communism, Lumi came to the United States and became the first Romanian woman ordained as a pastor in the world. Lumi earned her doctoral degree in theology and is a college and seminary professor. Lumi speaks at conferences, in schools and churches, sharing her message of faith against all odds, encouraging women and men to believe that hardships and detours in our lives happen for us, not against us, to prepare us to fulfill our God-given destiny.
