Nicholas Perrando is an accomplished Great Highland Bagpiper from the Bay Area. A recent graduate of UCLA, he is an expert at reading the audience during performances.
Nick was perfect. He was so accommodating and right on point. Even though we had a last minute change in the music and the program went a little longer than expected, Nick just went with the flow and played marvelously. He will always be the bagpiper that we can refer to friends and family. He made the memorial turn out just as we hoped. We can only say a very warm thank you.
Response from Nick Perrando:
Thank you for the kind words! It was a pleasure and honor to be able to perform at the service.
He played Amazing Grace at my sister’s Celebration of Life. He was a surprise for my family and he pulled it off perfectly. I’ve since heard from family and attendees how much they enjoyed him!
Nick Perrando was the perfect choice for my mother’s memorial service. He plays the bagpipe beautifully and was respectful, kind and attentive to every detail. A big thanks from my Family to Nick!
Nick was professiona.he was on time he adapted to a situation where a second bagpiper was brought in and they worked it out and played together he was very professional I highly recommend Nick.
I hired Nick to provide a final tribute to my Father (Funeral). Nick was wonderful and very accommodating to several last minute changes. I don't believe there was a dry eye in the area as he played Amazing Grace/Skye Boat Song for my Dad. Thank you
Nick was wonderful in every way. He was easy to communicate with, on time, respectful, and he did an amazing job playing Amazing Grace and Scotland The Brave at my father's memorial service. Even though he could have left immediately following his performancence, he came and found me to offer his condolences and touching words about the service and my father. We were all so impressed by such a kind and respectful young man.
Nick Perrando is amazing ! He played at our wedding on May 25, 2014. He escorted myself and my family down the fairway at Silverado Country Club to over 200 guests. I still have people that were in attendance comment on how moving it was. He brought many to tears with his performance. It was truly the highlight of the ceremony.
Nick was professional, courteous and in constant communication prior to the event. If he was nervous, you would never know !! If you are looking for pipes you will not be disappointed !!!
Nick was a perfect performer- responsable, friendly, willing to work with the guests, and a wonderful muscian. He made our little country community seem like the hills of Scottland.

What to Expect
When I do gigs, I'm great to be placed anywhere in an event: opening, during, or closing. I enjoy greeting guests and have been complimented many times on being friendly. I try to be very personable to the crowd, but will stand back if I'm told to or I start feeling it's inappropriate to mingle. I'm great with entertaining small groups as people arrive. I can also play for larger crowds with no problem.
I also will tailor my sets to the crowd. Traditional bagpipe music will always be played, however, I have been known to break out and play Crazy Train by Ozzie Ozbourne or the Star Wars Theme. Of course, while I can have fun and play loosely at an event, I pride myself on professionalism and seriousness at other events, such as funerals. Just as I can play music to lighten the mood, I can also play deeper songs such as Amazing Grace and Highland Cathedral. I am a great fit at any event you may have.
For those interested, I am currently wearing a Lindsay Hunting tartan, but have no family ties to that clan.
Whatever the event is, I can do it! I have been employed as the bagpiper at Silverado Country Club in Napa. I have done countless weddings, funerals, parties, and other events. I was the lead bagpiper of my former pipe band. I am very flexible and easy to work with. Rates are very negotiable. Go ahead and send an offer to this college kid! You know you want to!
