Nick Michelsen

My comedy ranges from PG to R. It depends on the kind of set the client needs. I perfer to work without restrictions but I understand this is not always what people want. I can do clean versions of my most of my material. Some of my humor can be dark and not suitable for an audience of young children. Expect to crowd work, and light banter during my set. I enjoy some audience interaction depending in the moment. I don't write many dirty jokes but I can make them up in the moment if I am unrestricted. Expect to hear self depreciating humor, stories, jokes about the world at large and the way I think.

My name is Nick Michelsen.
I was born and raised in Stockton California, where I currently reside today. My whole life I wanted to be a comedian. I watched people like George Carlin, Bill Hicks, Dane Cook, Jerry Seinfeld, Patrice O'Neal, etc... walk on stage and be themselves. Unapologetic, and raw. Not knowing where to start I delved inward and I wrote. Short stories, poems and a lot of jokes. Eventually, despite not knowing if I would be any good, I quit my job and stepped on stage. Before long I was going to comedy clubs trying to get in front of the right people. A couple of years in; I did a few theaters and even got to perform in front of Too Short and Jeff Ross at the Comedy Store in LA. Four years later I have never looked back. Every day I look at my notes and look for improvement. Every chance I get to be on a show or try out some new material, I take it. I love writing and sharing with others. I love what I do.

Honestly, I've done comedy in a group in the back of the coffee shop with no microphone. It's not ideal without a stage and microphone but it can be done and I am flexible.
