I am a stand up comedian that does clean comedy. My clean comedy is defined as no use of profanity, sexual overtone humor, racial put downs. Generally I perform for church shows but I'm open to other events as well.

January 25, 2026Mr. Jon was asked to entertain our guest for our 10th year For Profit Fundraising Charitable Event for GW Education and Awareness Foundation, and I really did enjoy him, as his materials were very clean and funny. So, if you're looking for a clean and funny comedian for your events without the profanity, cussing or cursing then, I definitely, would recommend Mr. Jon Mays. It's great to know, there's still comedians out here who can be funny without the extras (worldly trash).

October 27, 2025I had Jon as the main speaker at one of our monthly men's breakfasts. I [personally think that men are among one of the toughest groups to reach on a deeper level. Jon hit a home run that morning ! His humor broke down walls with the truth he communicated that morning. I recommend you schedule Jon for your event as you won't regret doing so

In general, my comedy material is developed generally through observation comedy. What is observation comedy? Observational comedy is a form of humor based on the commonplace aspects of everyday life. It is one of the main types of humor in stand-up comedy. In an observational comedy act, the comedian makes an observation about something which is common enough to be familiar to their audience, but not commonly discussed.
I am a Christian that does clean comedy. Not a Christian comedian. My comedy is designed for open audiences. Which means regardless of whether you are a Christian or not, the desire is for one to laugh and enjoy my style of humor regardless of beliefs, religion, culture, etc.

Upon my graduation from High School in 1987, I became more inquisitive about my ability to develop my comedic skills into those of a professional standup comedian. The thing that remained ever present on my mind, and I pondered if it were possible to be clean and funny at the same time because many comedians use vulgar language, race and sexual content to get a hearty laugh. However, after listening to and watching the comedy acts of Sinbad and other clean comedians, I realized that it was possible, and that became my challenge. Later while attending El Centro Community College in Dallas, Texas from 1988 to 1990, I enrolled in a speech class to gain additional help with my comedy skills. My instructor was willing to help me as long as I kept the content clean. She gave me tips on presentation and performing, and she also told me that I could do my comic routines in her class as long as I aligned my act to the speech curriculum of the class assignments. This was a difficult challenge, but it forced me to put my creative ability to the test, as well as develop new material. This challenge was a success! I made others laugh in all the speeches, and the content was clean. Shortly before the end of the semester, I was well recognized by my teacher and classmates as a very funny student that had great potential for standup comedy.
