May 25, 2022I am a concierge in a large hotel in New Orleans and I found myself in need of a clarinetist to perform a song for an Anniversary couple. I researched and found out about Gigsalad and posted my search that day.
I received a reply from Nick Ellman and from that day I was in close contact with him. He was very good to work with, extremely professional, and a pleasure to work with.
He was very prompt and performed wonderfully!! My guests were extremely happy which was what I wanted!

I can perform in a number of different configurations based on whatever is most desirable. Solo clarinet or saxophone with an option to add accompaniment.
For cocktail party background music I usually play easy listening jazz. Typically when I play as a duo it's with guitar or piano. For a trio or quartet I would add bass/drums. I always cater to the mood with sensitive dynamics and tasteful song selections.
If you're looking for the entertainment to be more of a lively focus, I offer a variety of options to perform in many different styles. I can play cover song requests (as discussed ahead of time) or original music with my band or solo project. Some of the styles I regularly play include traditional New Orleans jazz, gypsy jazz, funk, neo-soul, jazz-funk, jazz fusion, swing, latin jazz, contemporary jazz, cool jazz, improvised music, experimental jazz and more.
For solo performances, acoustic clarinet or saxophone might be the most appropriate for a simple, elegant and beautiful sound. I also have a solo project (Electric Clarinet Loops) where I play through effects pedals into a loop station with my drum machine.
Additionally, I play saxophone with the internationally touring jazz-funk ensemble called Naughty Professor. I am very comfortable playing with other horn players if you're looking for more of a brass band style.
