Cellist Anne Suda lets the art of the cello inspire and transport the atmosphere of every concert and event that she plays for!
Anne performs all over the US and abroad. From concert halls to art galleries to weddings to classrooms, Anne is passionate about bringing the inspirational sound of the cello, the instrument most similar to the human voice, to audiences everywhere. I had the honor of hiring this incredibly gifted cellist for my mother’s memorial service, and I can truly say she helped create something beautiful and unforgettable. From the very beginning, she approached the occasion with thoughtfulness, grace, and deep sensitivity. What touched me most was how she curated her song list—not just from a generic repertoire, but by studying photos I had taken of my mother’s CD collection. She took the time to understand who my mother was through her music, and crafted a diverse and emotionally resonant set that captured her spirit and fit the mood perfectly.
Her playing was absolutely exquisite—moving, elegant, and filled with heart. Every note felt like it was played with purpose and care. She was also completely professional—arriving early, well-prepared, and quietly supportive throughout.
In such a deeply personal and emotional moment for our family, her presence and music brought warmth, peace, and a sense of connection that words alone could never have achieved. I recommend her wholeheartedly and without reservation. She is not only a talented musician, but a truly compassionate person who understands the healing power of music.

About
Anne is grateful to have many opportunities for high-profile collaborations for events, tours, residencies, and concerts in the US, Europe, China, and Canada. Some of these collaborations have included a tour with Kanye West, performing for George Lucas’s ranch wedding, and numerous recording and performance projects with artists like Sting, Chicago, the Eagles, Radiohead, Third Eye Blind, and the Fifth Dimension. Anne has appeared as soloist with symphony orchestras, is a winner of several national and international competitions, and is a founding member of award-winning chamber ensembles. Anne started playing cello at age four with her mother, a talented cellist and teacher, and was also coached by her father, an acclaimed violinist. Anne continues in the tradition of her parents by teaching a studio of students ranging in age from 4 to 80. She is passionate about bringing her music to schools, frequently giving outreach performances inspired by her children’s book titled The Magic Cello Case. Anne moved to Sarasota, Florida from California, where she was studying for her doctoral degree at UCLA. She has a Master’s Degree from San Francisco Conservatory and a Bachlor’s Degree from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, where she double majored in English and studied abroad at the Sydney Conservatorium. Anne is currently on the faculty at the Sarasota Music Conservatory and is accepting new students as well as event bookings. CellOM!
