September 8, 2025Great Performer
Muireann was a wonderful musician to work with. I hired Miureann to play at my wedding ceremony and was thrilled with the results. Muireann was flexible, kind and easy to work with. Muireann made sure to learn the music to a tee and collaborated with the other musicians that played as well. Muireann's playing is quite beautiful and it sounded exactly how I imagined it, which made the ceremony music absolutely perfect. Muireann is very skilled musician and also very accommodating as well. I would hire Muireann again in a heartbeat!

Diego, thank you for hiring me to play your ceremony. Your family was very welcoming, and it was a lovely ceremony.
As discussed, I arrived for 7:30. I was told the ceremony would begin at 8:30, and it began around 8:10 — I was quite fine with the adjustment. I played about 45 minutes, at which point I was offered food and drink which was appreciated.
According to our discussion, I was booked to play for one hour from 8:30-9:30. I would have been happy to play the last 15 minutes, so not verifying this with you was my mistake. I apologize for that.
I was also expected to play outside, which was again, not something we discussed. The wind was calm enough, though the air was very cold, so I was as comfortable as could be expected next to the outdoor fire. However, in two decades as a musician, I have never been asked to play outside in a Canadian winter, no matter how mild.
In fact, the request for playing outside was not only made the day of, but only after my arrival at the venue. Considering that I have a valuable instrument that can be negatively impacted by such drastic temperature changes, I do not take this matter lightly.
I am always prepared to work with clients and be flexible with unexpected changes, and I ask the same in return. If at any point, you or your family had expressed the slightest hint that you were unhappy with the length of the performance, I would have happily added more time.
Again, congratulations on your engagement — you two seem like a lovely couple. Happiest returns to you of the New Year!

September 23, 2024Our Guests Loved the Music!
Muireann recently performed at our event, and while I wasn't able to fully take in the music myself, the guests spoke highly of how it complemented the evening. I appreciated her flexibility in working within a tight timeline, which helped us pull everything together. If you're looking for a musician who can deliver under pressure, Muireann would be a good choice.

What to expect

About
Muireann developed a passion for the violin by age 5. Among their earliest music teachers were counted recordings of Peter and the Wolf and the Classic Kids album Tchaikovsky Discovers America.
As their passion developed into dedication, they took up viola as a secondary instrument. In their graduation concert with the Okanagan Youth Symphony, Muireann played a movement of Mendelssohn’s violin concerto in the first half and switched to viola for Dvořák’s New World Symphony in the second.
While their playing these days revolves mostly around classical music, they retain a deep love of fiddle playing, particularly in the Celtic traditional style. Muireann has been a faculty member at the Kelowna Community Music School since 2022, and retains a position as an auxiliary violinist with the Okanagan Symphony Orchestra.
