Monamor is a Seattle-based acoustic Latin ensemble built around boleros, son cubano, cha cha chá, and original songs colored by Latin jazz. Everything is sung in Spanish, and everything is played acoustically — the kind of sound that fills a room without ever having to shout over it.
We came together around a simple idea: that this music deserves to be felt, not just heard in the background. A bolero can quiet a room. A son can get people out of their chairs. Our sets move between those two feelings all night — intimate and nostalgic one moment, warm and danceable the next.
The band draws on the spirit of Buena Vista Social Club and Omara Portuondo, alongside contemporary voices like Silvana Estrada, Natalia Lafourcade, and Eydie Gorme. Our members are seasoned performers who have shared stages across the Pacific Northwest, including Northwest Folklife, Fiestas Patrias, the Fremont Fair, and Seattle Center.
