This band really swings! Mike's Jazz Crew performs a variety of swing, Latin jazz, blues and funk music that will keep your toes tapping all night. We have six terrific musicians (drums, keyboard, saxophone, trumpet, guitar and bass) and an amazing female vocalist. We play regularly as the house band at the monthly Madcats Jazz Jam in Palatine hosted by drummer Mike Petrie. We can scale the band between three and seven instruments/vocals depending on your needs.

January 12, 2025Fantastic band! This group of musicians have been playing together for many years - and it shows! As the house band for the monthly jazz jam at Madcats in Palatine they have been packing the house for the past 2 years. Their music is exciting and accessible. It includes a mixture of jazz standsrds, bossa’s, blues, funk and originals and is led by Mike Petrie - one of Chicago’s most exciting drummers! The instrumentalists are joined by the fantastic Cindy Symonds on vocals.

November 29, 2024Mike has a very unique way to BLEND multiple musicians on any stage on SAME PAGE everytime. He is extremely talented with his drum solos, changing the tempo and keeping audiences on their TOES wanting MORE from him. The most special characteristic that Mike possesses. . . regardless of his STRONG drum skills . . . he is a VERY HUMBLE & TRUSTWORTHY individual which is VALUED and can be RARE in the music world now a days!!!
