STROLLING/CLOSE-UP
See Mike Paldino perform miracles up-close and personally, the way magic was intended to be- without pretense or agenda. Mike will mingle amongst your guests, traveling in and out of small groups and individuals performing feats of sleight-of-hand, mentalism, and anything else the situation lends itself to. This type of performance is perfect for formal and non-formal events, cocktail parties, trade shows, corporate events, house parties, and even large scale productions and benefits.
STAND-UP STAGE SHOW
This is Mike presenting his formal stand-up show for seated guests. Magic that invites the audience to be participants in the performance, as opposed to merely witnessing it. As part of his set, Mike performs a card trick simultaneously with the entire audience, where they do all the work, and in the end, are left taking the credit, and invited to give themselves the standing ovation.

Mike Paldino is an American magician and performance artist. Although primarily known for using sleight of hand with playing cards, he also incorporates elements and effects involving mentalism, sideshow and strength feats, memory work, and bizarre magic into his performances. He has studied the history of the art of magic since age 7, and over the course of the last 28 years has done all he can to elevate the art in his own unique way. His corporate clients include Apple Inc., T-Mobile, Doherty Enterprises, Applebeeʼs Grill & Bar, Outback Steakhouse, Seton Hall University, NYU, Boiling Springs Bank, Wordsworth, Medidata, and The Boy Scouts Of America. He is the creator of his own one-man show, “Demonstrations Of Modern Conjuring" (currently in redevelopment) and in 2005, was awarded Second Place by the David Copperfield Assembly of the Society Of American Magicians for his performance of his signature piece, “Needles”. Currently he is at work mapping out scenarios for a number of different potential projects- a documentary, a memoir of his experiences with behavioral therapy, his magic/performance web series Modern Deceptions, a performance DVD, and most especially, a long-gestating television pilot idea dealing with...stuff.
Mike's performance style relies heavily on his ability to meld well with crowds of any size and integrate himself into any situation without being obtrusive. His relaxed presentations and natural skills when it comes to reading his audience allow him to invade their space and amaze them on a level they've never experienced before. Whether it's revealing a selected playing card, divining a thought-of name or memory from a spectator's mind, mentally bending a piece of silverware, or hammering a 4 inch nail into his nose, Mike pulls no punches when it comes to his traditional (and off-beat) performance, leaving an impression in the audience's mind, and creating an experience that resonates in their memory long after the show has ended.
Mike is a graduate of Seton Hall University, where he earned a BA in Liberal Studies (Communications), and double minors in English and Creative Writing. He was born and raised in New Jersey, and currently lives in the suburbs outside of Philadelphia.
This is what Mike Paldino's corporate and private clients are saying about him:
“Mike clearly has a deep love for his craft, and he delivers both a magical and inspirational experience to his audience!”
-Domenick Carino, Retail Business Leader, Apple Inc.
“We’ve had other magicians come to perform for our students, but when Mike comes to campus, he always brings an element that is unique and fresh. Never content just to entertain, he aims to challenge his audience’s perceptions, to get them to really think about what they are seeing and how they see it- and that’s what makes him different.”
-Seton Hall University
“In the 10 or so minutes Mike spent with our group, he’d made a playing card appear in my wife’s purse, skillfully removed our district manager’s watch, and made another chosen card appear to call my personal phone! I’ve seen magicians, and I’ve seen guys who do tricks- Mike is a magician. He’s more than that- he’s the real deal!”
- John Allen, Regional Sales Manager, T-Mobile
“My wife and I hired Mike to entertain guests at a party at our house. Mike roamed among the guests throughout the night performing amazing tricks for individuals and small groups to the pleasure and astonishment of all. He was fun and pleasant and never intrusive. He has an understated style that seems to complement his tricks making them all the more surprising and delightful. Great guy. Great night.”
-Gaeton Zorzi, Client
“(Mike) did a great job at the party... and had us all fascinated, not to mention how much we all laughed!!! Thanks again for making the evening very special!!!”
-Celia Sarajian, Client
“He’s no joke, and will blow your mind... sick!”
-Ashley Perks, Client
“The contents of ‘The Box’- WOW! The magic performed- WOW!!! Another amazing performance...”
-Lori Speilman, Events Coordinator, The State Theatre Of Boyertown
“Paldino did not disappoint...”
-Rebecca Blanchard, The Boyertown Area Times
“Just wanted to thank you for an awesome performance last Saturday. It was interesting to be able to see your art performed up close. I use the word ‘art’ because that is exactly what it is. You were flawless. My only disappointment was that I couldn't catch you. The illusions kept getting more and more amazing. I especially liked the origami dollar and the shield on the dollar that you erased and moved. If anyone asks us to recommend a performer we will be sure to mention you. Thanks so much!”
-Barbara (and Larry) Coia, Client
“No one could believe what happened! There was a small group gathered in the dining room watching Mike perform, and one of the guests, as if to challenge him, said ‘ok, now show us something good’. With a smile, Mike very enthusiastically asked the gentleman to name any card in the deck he wanted (the 10 of Clubs was named), and then proceeded to hurl the deck in the air across the room. When the cards landed Mike once again asked the card be named, which is was, to which Mike replied “Look inside that bottle”. Inside a SEALED wine bottle was the 10 of Clubs. My guests ran away cheering... I’ve never seen anything like it before, or since!!!”
-Amy Harris, Client
“Mike is much different than other magicians I’ve seen. He’s personable and puts the audience’s needs first. He’s not afraid to let them in on the real secret- that he’s not really ‘magical’, he’s just really good at what he does. Most surprising to me is he doesn’t stick to one thing- he loves sleight-of-hand but is seemingly equally happy putting sewing needles in his mouth. Don’t even ask about the acupuncture needle.”
-Paul Cullen, Client
“I was told not to ask about the needle thing- I just needed to see it to believe it. Well I saw it- and I still don’t believe it.”
-Jason Greenberg, Client

Mike's stage show contains effects on the spectrum from classic sleight of hand, to mind reading, all the way to seemingly dangerous stunts and demonstrations of sideshow-like attractions. Within the approximate hour-plus, Mike will divine a thought-of card before the spectator even mentions it, find a borrowed finger ring in a most impossible location, and play a very real and extremely dangerous game of russian roulette with a 5-inch butterfly knife. In the final act of his presentation, Mike lets the audience "choose" the lottery, before closing with his version of the classic Needle Swallowing... with 40 needles.
**Please note that while sections of the show can appear dangerous (the audience is ALWAYS reminded NOT to attempt anything they see themselves), Mike is a trained professional and does everything in his power to ensure his own safety and well-being. At no time throughout the performance is ANY audience member ever put into a dangerous or potentially harmful situation.
Mike can trace his influences all over the entertainment industry. While there are copious magicians who have contributed to his development in the field (Paul Harris, Penn & Teller, et al.), his performance style draws more heavily from the worlds of film, music, and art. The directors Alfred Hitchcock and Stanley Kubrick, painters like Van Gogh and Matisse, and musicians as widely eclectic as Ennio Morricone and Nine Inch Nails have all had a hand in the visual and dramatic elements of Mike's live show and performances. When asked who influences him most, though, he refers to his "Rushmore"- Mike Patton, David Blaine, Salvador Dali, Ricky Jay, and David Fincher.
