About
Michael Halcomb is a stand-up comedian, minister, professor, and father who has mastered the art of staying mostly put-together while everything around him falls apart. His comedy is clean but sharp, smart but accessible, and always anchored in the everyday chaos of family life, faith, and being a “good guy who keeps finding himself in messed-up situations.”
Michael’s material draws from real experiences, from raising teenagers, to hurricane evacuations, to navigating Southern culture after moving from Hawaii, to learning the unwritten rules of opening someone else’s fridge. He brings audiences into his world where his comedy motto is: "Laughter > Outrage."
Michael performs in comedy clubs, churches, colleges, corporate events, conferences, and fundraisers. He also hosts a podcast featuring conversations with comedians, authors, and cultural thinkers. His humor connects across generations and backgrounds, giving audiences a night of laughter they can enjoy and quote long after the show ends.
Whether you’re looking for a family-friendly event, a campus show with edge, or a comedian who can keep it clean without watering it down, Michael delivers high-quality comedy with heart, honesty, and a healthy dose of sarcastic bite.
Additional booking notes
Michael keeps things simple. Here’s what he needs to make comedy happen:
• A microphone that works (preferably one that hasn’t been licked by a toddler recently)
• A sound system loud enough for the people in the back who pretend they didn’t want to laugh anyway
• A stage or performance area that is not directly next to the dessert table - he cannot compete with cheesecake
• Lights pointed at him, not what he thinks might be an incoming bald spot (if one does develop, this requirement becomes non-negotiable)
• Audience seated close enough to see facial expressions but far enough away that I don’t end up holding their baby
• If outdoors, please provide: no wind, no wild animals, and no helicopter tours landing mid-punchline
Bonus: A bottle of water so he can pretend he's a real celebrity.
Michael's flexible. If your venue is weird, he’ll adapt; just don’t put him in front of a giant fish tank or a bounce house. He's tried both. The fish were the better audience.
