For both Matt & Laurel, the love of music started at a very young age. Growing up in musical families and near the stage, it was easy to see their love of music transpire. But it wasn’t until they both matched on the online dating app, Tinder, that they realized they had not only found “the one”, but also a future together as musical partners.
Since 2014, the Twin Cities-based acoustic duo Matt & Laurel have been performing at venues throughout the Midwest. From hillside wineries to downtown city festivals, no stage or venue is too big or too small. They love to entertain and curate set lists to the venue or location, and always strive to put on an exceptional acoustic show. Blending their voices seamlessly, Matt & Laurel balance each other’s vocal strengths and create arrangements that keep you entertained all night long.
Matt & Laurel cover artists such as PRINCE, Ed Sheeran, Elvis, Mumford and Sons, Adele, Pearl Jam, Maren Morris, Stevie Nicks and more. No performance is ever the same. They put a twist on all your favorites, plus a few b-side tunes you’ll soon remember and never forget.
In addition to covering it all, Matt & Laurel are also songwriters who love creating and playing original work. Matt released his debut EP “Hope” in 2016 and Laurel has been quietly writing lyrics & poetry since a young age. A 2022 single is almost surely coming soon (cross your fingers)!
As full-time musicians, Matt & Laurel are truly passionate about music and the work that they do. They feel fortunate to be able to share their love of music with each of you and feel strongly about the positive impacts music and art have on the community. They are committed to making the world a better place through their work, personal lives and throughout the community on a daily basis.
