July 23, 2025Fun, Classy Entertainment
Jason and his gypsy jazz swing band were an amazing addition to our wedding reception. They were all very talented and professional, and their performances made it a very classy and enjoyable evening. They even did an impromptu swing dance clinic for us and our guests! I would recommend them to anyone looking for quality entertainment at a fair price.

July 21, 2025The best!!!
Jason and the Dap Squad were incredible to work with!! So professional, communicative, and put on an AMAZING show for our wedding day!! We knew we wanted a band over a DJ and specifically a band with talented musicians and a group that would play a variety of tunes, and The Dap Squad did just that! We had the best night dancing, and we credit that to this band! They were so easy to work with throughout the entire process, and they made the night so memorable for us and for our guests!!! Seriously look no further and book this band for your wedding or event - you won't regret it!!

January 22, 2025Great wedding band.
The Dap Squad is comprised of top-notch musicians who know how to bring down the house in the best way possible. Throughout the night, and in the months after our 10/05/2024 wedding, our guests would not stop exclaiming to us, "Where did you find this band!" Cannot recommend highly enough.

January 1, 2025The Best
Hands down the best band we could've chose for our wedding celebration. Got us all out on the dance floor and the songs they learned on request from us sounded better than the original! Could not be happier.

The Dap squad is amazing! They played at our wedding and our guests couldn't stop talking about how impressive they are. They were easy to work with and most importantly they sounded incredible. What to expect
Expect a packed dance floor, guests of all ages moving, and an energy that doesn't let up from the first song to the last. The Dap Squad plays to the room — reading the crowd, adjusting the set on the fly, and making every moment feel like it was planned just for you.
You'll get professional, punctual musicians who arrive prepared and take your event seriously. No sight-reading, no phones out, no "weekend warrior" energy. These are full-time performers who have played thousands of events and know exactly how to make yours unforgettable.
The band covers an enormous range: Motown, funk, pop, rock, R&B, jazz, country, current Top 40, and classic hits from the 60s through today. We're happy to learn your first dance song or a special request at no extra charge.
Configurations range from an intimate jazz duo or trio to a 15-piece ensemble with full horn section and complete rhythm section. All packages include professional sound equipment and MC services. Ceremony and cocktail hour coverage available.
Travel fees apply for events beyond 45 minutes from Minneapolis ($0.70 per mile per musician (round trip)). Overnight accommodations are required for events 2.5+ hours out and will be quoted upfront. All costs are itemized in your contract before anything is confirmed.
About
The Dap Squad is Minneapolis' premier live entertainment band — a handpicked ensemble of world-class musicians who bring professional touring experience to your wedding, corporate event, or private party.
Led by Jason Weismann — Berklee College of Music graduate, saxophonist, vocalist, and Minnesota Rock & Country Hall of Fame inductee — The Dap Squad is built on a simple premise: every musician should be the best available, every time. Jason spent six years on the road touring Europe, opening for and sharing stages with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Shakira, Harry Connick Jr., Wynton Marsalis, Steppenwolf, and The Guess Who. That experience shaped an uncompromising approach to musicianship that runs through every performance.
These aren't weekend warriors who learned your first dance song from YouTube. They are full-time professional artists who have performed thousands of events — and they treat your once-in-a-lifetime evening accordingly. You will never see a band member losing their place or sight-reading music at your reception.
The Dap Squad offers flexible configurations to fit any event, venue, or budget: from an intimate jazz duo or trio starting at $1,950, to a 5–7 piece standard lineup, all the way up to a full 15-piece ensemble with horns and complete rhythm section. We cover Motown, funk, pop, rock, R&B, jazz, country, and everything in between — and we're happy to learn your first dance song or any special request.
All packages include professional sound equipment and MC services. Ceremony and cocktail hour coverage available. Based in Minneapolis, MN — available throughout Minnesota and beyond.

Additional booking notes
The group is 'complete' as a 10 piece group. We can go as low as a 4 person if we have budget constraints, but this limits some of our song list as many songs depend on certain instrumentation.
Lighting system is an additional charge
We offer an upgraded sound system for larger rooms, and crowds of over 100-150.
Outdoor events - We have a much larger sound system for outdoor events and festivals. With this setup we would require a sound engineer and lighting crew unless already provided by the event location.
Out of control or drunk guests are the responsibility of the person contracting the band. If anything is stolen, broken or if instruments are played when the band is on break, the person contracting the band is responsible for any costs or penalties.
Power has to be provided to the performance area and the performance area must be clean, free of debris and safe for the entertainers.
