I was not expecting to move my outdoor wedding inside due to the snow, but Julia made it feel so much warmer with her music. I was so pleased with the quality and many of my guests raved about the music. Thank you so much~
I hired Cello Jules and a pianist accompanied her. Everyone raved about them. They really set the mood for the wedding. Beforehand, we went over what they’d play. They took requests from me, so we were able to surprise our guests with some of our favorite pop songs they arranged for the occasion. I can’t express how much their presence meant to me, my husband, and our guests.
Julia and her pianist played all the music for our wedding and did an absolutely wonderful job! They were willing to learn the music needed for our Catholic mass and we couldn’t have asked for anything more!

We had a last minute change of musician, however we have had so compliments on our ceremony. I was unable to hear the Recessional from where I was standing before I walked down the aisle, but what I did hear, I thought sounded amazing. They also worked with my brother, who I asked to play piano, and he is by no means a professional. They did an amazing job working with him, and helping him know what to expect for the wedding. Julia was the solo cellist for my wedding ceremony, and she was amazing! Before the wedding (and at the wedding itself) she was very professional and easy to work with, and I was grateful to not have to worry about the ceremony music because I knew she had it under control. Amenable to your needs! Can easily play acoustic or amplified music, ranging from classical to jazz to popular covers. Happy to play outside as long as the temperature is over 50 degrees and there is no precipitation. If weather conditions might be poor, a tent or covering is requested.
Solo cello is usually played acoustic. For cello/piano, we only need access to power for the keyboard (unless a piano is provided by the space). Julia can also put together a string quartet or a small band. Additional set-up needs required for amplified groups.
Julia is a cellist and singer-songwriter from Minneapolis, MN. She has a B.A. in Music from Dartmouth College and an M.A. from Boston University. She plays with the Duluth Superior Symphony, the La Crosse Symphony Orchestra, and various churches in the Twin Cities area. She has been playing music for over 20 years across the U.S., from concert halls of 900 to listening rooms of 30. Her music has been played on Classical MPR, TPT, KFAI, and KBEK. Julia released her debut album, Aporia, in 2018. and her second album, Two Roads to Nowhere, in May 2019. She is founder of the Delphia Cello Quartet and a member of local folk trio Lady Spruce.
