What to expect
Amenable to your needs! Can easily play acoustic or amplified music, ranging from classical to jazz to popular covers. Happy to play outside as long as the temperature is over 50 degrees and there is no precipitation. If weather conditions might be poor, a tent or covering is requested.
Solo cello is usually played acoustic. For cello/piano, we only need access to power for the keyboard (unless a piano is provided by the space). Julia can also put together a string quartet or a small band. Additional set-up needs required for amplified groups.
About
Julia is a cellist and singer-songwriter from Minneapolis, MN. She has a B.A. in Music from Dartmouth College and an M.A. from Boston University. She plays with the Duluth Superior Symphony, the La Crosse Symphony Orchestra, and various churches in the Twin Cities area. She has been playing music for over 20 years across the U.S., from concert halls of 900 to listening rooms of 30. Her music has been played on Classical MPR, TPT, KFAI, and KBEK. Julia released her debut album, Aporia, in 2018. and her second album, Two Roads to Nowhere, in May 2019. She is founder of the Delphia Cello Quartet and a member of local folk trio Lady Spruce.
