Marv Rosenberg's Safaris, 1960 Gold Record "Image of a Girl" fame! We perform both acappella and to acoustic guitar. Rock & Roll Hall of Fame member, Marv Rosenberg, founded The Safaris, & received a Gold Record in 1960 for writing, "Image of a Girl." He has assembled a quintet of top singers who share a love for Doo-Wop, and have worked with major artists including Linda Ronstadt, Steve Allen, Diana Ross, & Jackson Browne. One Safari, Ladd Vance, performs solo at many East Coast doo wop shows. His father, Kenny Vance, is original member of Jay & the Americans. Treat yourself to The Safaris!
A great walk down Memory Lane for me to hear “The Image Of A Girl”. You might not remember this Marv but you wrote that song in my bedroom on Coverdale St. in Los Angeles CA. Here’s to wonderful memories. Jerri Cook
Marv Rosenberg and the Safaris were fabulous. Great singing and very warm and nice guys. It was the highlight of our party. It was also great working with their manager, Christine.
Response from Marv Rosenberg's Safaris:
It was such a pleasure being part of the birthday celebration. What a gratifying experience to see the birthday "boy" really enjoying himself. Thank you for inviting us into your lovely home. Hopefully we can do it again. Sincerely, Marv Rosenberg's Safaris
The Safaris' performed in a spectacular fashion for our 50th class reunion event last fall. Very professional, easy to work with, & played all the great songs; especially their gold record, "Image of a Girl." Working with their manager Christine is better that listening to those great melodious tones! Book em Dano!
Response from Marv Rosenberg's Safaris:
Oh wow, just noticed this review from you and your 50th high school committee. We are very gratified that we could help make your nostalgic event be such a huge success! Thank you very much, John. Look forward to illuminated your next event! Sincerely, Marv Rosenberg's Safaris
I threw a birthday party at my house for my wife's birthday, and Marv and the Safaris turned it into the best birthday party ever ! They carried the party from the very first song, and kept the mood and energy going till the end. The fact that 'Image of a girl' was her favorite make-out song as a teenager didn't hurt. If you like acapella do whop, they are guaranteed to add class and fun.
Response from Marv Rosenberg's Safaris:
Dear Mark.....We are so pleased that we could help make your party such a big hit! Thank you very much for your kind words. By the way, we were impressed by the warmth and hospitality you paid both us and your lovely guests. Look forward to seeing you again in the future. Sincerely, Marv Rosenberg's Safaris
If you like the music of the 50s, 60s and 70s. If you like doo-wop. If you like harmonies, you’re gonna love Marv Rosenberg’s Safaris, an a cappella doo-wop group. They’re wopping great!!! Northridge Sparkle hired them for our Mural Unveiling on October 5, 2014. Even though it was over 100 degrees outside, the Safaris kept the audience captivated. They not only yelled for one more song at the end of their set, they wanted five more songs!!!! Nobody wanted them to leave. Great group. Hire them while you can!!!
Response from Marv Rosenberg's Safaris:
Dear Andrea, It is so nice of you to write this review. Yes, we were pleased to receive such a positive reception from the crowd watching our show at the Mural Unveiling, and now to read your review......puts the icing on the cake for us. Thank you very much. Marv Rosenberg's Safaris, www.safarisdoowop.com
I loved the show.
Response from Marv Rosenberg's Safaris:

Great selection of songs and wonderful harmonies. Marv Rosenberg's Safaris were engaging, and they had fun with the audience. A wonderful trip down memory lane. Can't wait to see them again!
Response from Marv Rosenberg's Safaris:
Hi Lynn......What a positive review! How gratifying for us! So glad you had such a good time. We are on the verge of announcing more venues. We will keep you posted. Thank you, Marv Rosenberg's Safaris.
I was dancing in my seat the whole time. Great nostalgia. Their harmonizing was wonderful. True showmen.
Response from Marv Rosenberg's Safaris:
Hi Steve......Love your response! Thank you for this great review. We are on the verge of announcing other bookings, and will keep you posted. Thanks, again, Marv Rosenberg's Safaris.
Hearing the vocals without instrumental backing brought forth the richness and fullness of the harmonies. So wonderfully organic, I loved it. I found myself romanticizing about an era that I was too young to experience......... Street corner doo wop, imagining myself walking up to a doo wop group on the east coast and hearing those harmonies, blending right in front of me, in all it's human purity.
The Safari quintet performed oldies from the 50's. The group was very personable, and had great voices. What talent!! We spent a wonderful afternoon hearing such terrific performers.
Response from Marv Rosenberg's Safaris:
Thank you, Estherly, for your positive feedback of 5 Stars! So glad you enjoyed the show! Marv Rosenberg's Safaris
The accapella harmony was wonderful. The guys took us all back to our fun times with musical memories! Fun and fantastic.
You had an enthusiastic audience singing, tapping, clapping and smiling. Marv Rosenberg's Safaris did a top rate job. Not only are these talented guys fabulous, but it is obvious they love to perform!
Response from Marv Rosenberg's Safaris:
Dear Laraine.....Thank you for taking the time to write a review about our group. You are right on when you said that you noticed we love to perform. One of our favorite things is feeling the connection with our audiences. Gratefully, Marv Rosenberg's Safaris

Audiences have raved about how Marv Rosenberg's Safaris connect with them. The fun banter, the brief but charming intro to songs, their experience, smooth harmonies, alternating leads, and overall charisma leave their audiences wanting more! This is apparent by the number of standing ovations the Safaris receive. And if it is a private event or party, The Safaris can either provide a harmonic backdrop to any venue, or provide a stand-out performance, illuminating the festivities! They are happy to be the perfect fit for every venue.
Doo Wop Down Memory Lane with MARV ROSENBERG'S SAFARIS of the 1960 Gold Record "Image of a Girl" Fame! A Cappella Doo Wop at its finest!
Five guys came together to form a blended harmonic a cappella group because of their love for doo-wop, past experiences in the music industry, the gratification of sharing their talents, and to be part of a group where there were no personal egos and everyone would sing as a team. Ironically, the exposed blending of voices within an a cappella setting would require the utmost “harmony” within its members. The joy of singing together is manifested in their engaging banter and enthusiastic showmanship.
Ladd Vance came out of the womb singing doo wop as he is the son of Kenny Vance (who is an original member of Jay and the Americans). Ladd met Nick Krall... an actor and musician, who also loved doo-wop. The two of them decided to form a group. While looking for a tenor, a bass, and a baritone, many guys came in and out of the group, but they just couldn’t find the right fit. They then met Harris Levey, who sings tenor and has had years of experience singing with groups of different genres. Harris mentioned he sang a few shows with The Safaris, of Image of a Girl fame, and that the original member of the group, Marv Rosenberg, a bass singer, may be available. Harris contacted Marv and found him very receptive to singing with them. Lastly, the group needed a baritone. Luckily Joe Wise was available, as Joe was an experienced singer and was someone who had previously performed with The Safaris. The group was now complete, and a sense of camaraderie and magic seemed apparent. "Marv Rosenberg’s Safaris" was formed! And the rest, as they say, is history!
If you love Doo Wop, you will love Marv Rosenberg's Safaris. No need for a band or tracks to back them up as they are A Cappella! Swing and sway, croon and swoon, to some of your old favorites: In the Still of the Night, Come Go with Me, Diamonds and Pearls, Little Star, just to name a few, and of course, the song that put the Safaris on the map, Image of a Girl!
Currently they are in demand for private parties: corporate events, weddings, retirements, birthdays, anniversaries, reunions, or for any reason for a party! Marv Rosenberg's Safaris will liven up any gathering and help to make it a successful event.
If needed, Marv Rosenberg's Safaris can provide their own microphones and PA system. Remember no band is necessary as they are A Cappella!

Marv Rosenberg's Safaris has an admiration for Kenny Vance and the Planotones. Kenny sang with Jay & the Americans and has performed with his own group on the East Coast for decades. Kenny's son, Ladd Vance, is a member of Marv Rosenberg's Safaris. Ladd has sung with his dad in performances, and on 2 albums.
Usually it is best to have microphones. Marv Rosenberg's Safaris will provide their own 5 mikes and PA system.
