The experience from bid, to agreement, to planning, to our event was outstanding. Would not hesitate to partner again, they exceeded expectations for our event!
This was for a corporate event, with our executive leadership in the audience - high career stakes if you know what I mean. Not only did they deliver on what I was looking for, they elevated the energy of the event.
Colleen who was our main POC was a joy to work with, and the singers on site were just as pleasant as we were getting them set up (and of course, the nailed the singing part).

Colleen and the choir worked with us for an event at the Beverly Hilton. The request was an unusual one, and honestly we were very last minute, but Colleen and team were a pleasure to work with, performed exactly as we had hoped, and were very flexible with the changes we needed. April 27, 2026Completely ruined my wedding
Very unprofessional group. I asked for them to sing for my wedding what a big mistake that was! They've clearly never sung at a wedding before and it shows, although they told me they have deep experience in that area.
I told them to sing while I was walking down the aisle and they said they have to have a time. I timed myself at 1:20 and gave them 1:30 as a rough estimate. When the time came my dress was very big and my dad who was walking me down the aisle was stepping on it, which slowed our walk to ~2m (unexpected). For a full 30s - 40s the choir stood there in complete silence as I completed my walk. They couldve hummed something or sang the chorus again, instead they just stared at me in silence. As professional musicians I would expect some ability to improvise on the spot, but there was nothing. It was 30s-40s of full on awkward silence

Hi Rena, I think it’s extremely hyperbolic and more than a little unfair to say that we ruined your wedding. We sang beautifully; we were there on time. The original arrangement, as detailed in our written contract, was to perform two 3-minute songs. Three days before the wedding, you called me with concerns that one of the songs was going to be too long. I asked you how long you wanted it to be, and you told me you would time your walk and let me know. The next day I emailed you and asked you if you had timed the walk, and you told me yes, and you would like the song to be one minute and 30 seconds. I said we could do that, and that’s exactly what we did! I of course noticed you were only halfway down the aisle by the time that song ended and I was trying to make eye contact with you, and the Wedding coordinator, the marriage officiant, and The DJ to see if anyone was going to signal me that we should sing longer and nobody would even look at me. In the absence of further direction, I stuck to the letter of the deal, which in my experience is the most professional way to handle situations that don’t go exactly as planned. Unfortunately I am not gifted with the ability to read minds so I didn’t know how you wanted us to handle it in that moment. I can tell now that you didn’t like how I handled it, but I still feel that a one star review is extremely unfair and I hope you will reconsider. Your wedding was beautiful and you were a beautiful bride, I assure you we did not ruin your wedding!

About
The Keene Singers is a name used for choirs, a cappella groups, and other vocal ensembles put together by Colleen Keene on an as-needed basis. Hello, I am Colleen! I have been in the business of ensemble vocal singing since before I got my Bachelor's degree, and I am very happy that this is my full-time job now.
In the past twenty years that I have been doing this, I have gathered a roster of about 70 professional vocalists in the Los Angeles area, with additional rosters of singers based in New York City, Denver, and the San Francisco Bay Area. What started out as mostly booking Christmas Caroling quartets has expanded into a year-round operation of me recruiting, organizing, rehearsing, and ultimately booking vocal ensembles as small as three singers to choirs as large as 40. Not only am I an accomplished musical arranger as well, but I also have many other musical arrangers available if a project needs to be completed more quickly than I will be able to.
I specialize in putting together the right group of singers for your event, singing exactly the music you want to hear, the way you want to hear it. I prioritize professionalism and vocal ability above all else in my singers, but we will do everything we can within reason to provide the look you want as well as the sound.
Vocal groups I have contracted have performed for such clients as Paramount Studios, Jimmy Kimmel Live, The Magic Castle, Soboba Casino Resort, Calico Ghost Town, Pechanga Resort, Los Angeles Airport, and many, many more. I have booked and staffed over 1000 engagements since 2009.
