Whether it's a funky Bill Withers tune, a picturesque James Taylor lullaby, or one of my own compositions, I've rarely been interested in making sounds just for the sake of making them. Those sounds *mean* something. Those words have a story waiting to be told inside of them. I'm much more concerned with giving people "moments" through those stories hidden within the songs I sing and perform. Moments to celebrate. Moments to escape into. Moments to reminisce; to remember; to rekindle that love for life and one another.

I offer an expansive repertoire of songs spanning a wide spectrum of genres - from folk to modern pop to classic soul, and everything in between. Whatever kind of atmosphere your event needs, I am more than happy to orient my expertise toward your vision and make it all come to life.

Hi. I'm Luke.

I was born and raised in the coastal region of North Carolina, but at this point I suppose there are many places I could call "home." Between having my adolescent years practically narrated by the likes of Jon Foreman, Billy Joel, and James Taylor, and being awestruck by my grandfather's passion for passing on the gift of song, this whole 'music' thing really caught me by surprise all those years ago. Who knew a carved piece of wood with some metal strings thrown on it would change so much? I certainly didn’t. And somehow, maybe the surprise makes it all the better in the end.

Music has always been incredibly important to me. I have a not-so-small hunch that it might be for you as well. The first time I heard “Jump” by Van Halen was just…different. The first time I saw my grandfather play every note of a Doc Watson tune was a moment I’ll never forget. There is something truly wonderful about this language of song that we all share, because we all have something to sing about inside of us. I think it's one of those things that proves we are all much more alike than we are different.

The creating, performing, and touring life has taken a variety of shapes for me over the years - often in the most unexpected ways. A defining experience came in the Fall of 2016, in which I embarked on a 35-day trek across 15 states in the U.S. with highlight shows in various cities along the west coast. It all turned out to be a proverbial “warm-up” for a touring adventure that would come years later: a 2-month escapade through 8 countries in Europe in the Summer of 2022, with back-to-back shows in the downtown district of Dresden, Germany serving as near-surreal live performance highlights.

I hope that somehow, the music I make and the stories I tell can help you along on your journey - whatever your path might be. I’ve always believed that stories matter. Because stories are about people, and I dare say people matter. Let’s see what kinds of stories we can tell together.
