What to expect

LP Trixie is an original alternative rock band based in Chicago, known for writing, recording, and performing their own music. You can explore the band’s original material and experience their live sound through professionally mixed performance videos captured from actual shows and live events.

While original music remains at the core of LP Trixie, the band’s live performances also feature a carefully curated selection of cover songs that align naturally with their sound and influences. Their setlists draw inspiration from the post-punk movement of the late ’70s and early ’80s — including artists like The Police, U2, Joy Division, and The Cure — as well as the post-punk revival and alternative rock explosion of the early 2000s, including bands like The Strokes, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Interpol, and Hole.

What sets LP Trixie apart is their focus on avoiding overly predictable cover-band standards. Instead, the band performs songs more commonly associated with festival lineups such as Riot Fest, Lollapalooza, Glastonbury, and Isle of Wight — music that connects with passionate fans of alternative and indie rock while remaining authentic to the band’s identity.

Within Chicago, LP Trixie primarily performs original music showcases and club performances. For summer festivals, community events, and select private bookings, the band can tailor performances to include a balanced mix of recognizable alternative rock covers alongside standout original material.

LP Trixie delivers a high-energy, guitar-driven live show built around strong vocals, atmospheric guitars, and a modern alternative rock sound rooted in Chicago’s independent music scene.

About

LP Trixie is a Chicago-based alternative rock band blending post-punk revival, indie rock, and garage rock into a sharp-edged modern sound. Formed in 2022 by guitarist and songwriter James Brennan and vocalist Amelia Thompson, the band has built a reputation around energetic live performances, melodic hooks, atmospheric guitars, and emotionally charged vocals.

Drawing influence from artists such as The Strokes, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Interpol, Joy Division, and early R.E.M., LP Trixie combines angular post-punk textures with fuzzed-out garage rock guitars and driving rhythms. Their sound balances raw energy with melodic songwriting, creating a style that feels both modern and rooted in classic alternative rock traditions.

The band began performing live in late 2023 and has appeared at notable Chicago venues including Subterranean (Sub-T), Montrose Saloon, Cobra Lounge, Liars Club, and Underground Lounge, as well as suburban venues such as RocHaus. LP Trixie has continued to expand its presence throughout the Chicago music scene through live performances, independent releases, and grassroots promotion.

Recent releases including “Foolish Again,” “Fly on the Wall,” and “Lowfiving” showcase the band’s evolving sound and growing momentum across streaming platforms. LP Trixie continues to build an audience through a combination of independent marketing, live performance videos, playlist placements, and regional live shows.
