Llavar Mindley Professional Drummer

A very solid drummer with excellent timing, and ability to flow well in any band situation.

Llavar Mindley was born in Kingston, Jamaica, and has always had an affinity for performing. His musical aptitude was developed at a very young age when he started playing the drums in church. In 2009, Llavar moved to Atlanta, Georgia, to fully pursue his dream — a professional career in music.

He attended the Atlanta Institute of Music and Media, graduating from the Drum Performance Program with Honors. Since graduating, Llavar has performed in various venues on the independent circuit, backing several artists and various instrumentalists. His professionalism and dedication to hard work has earned him the honor and privilege of performing with Grammy® nominated artists Shannon McNally and Carolyn Malachi on two separate Grammy® Experience residencies.

He has also toured with the acclaimed Celebrity All-Star Band, led by Richard Alan Smith, former guitarist for Earth, Wind, and Fire, Kenny Loggins, Aretha Franklin, and many others.

Llavar’s versatile style of playing adds an element that is essential for success on today’s music scene. His professionalism, creativity and attention to detail all translate to establishing him as the go-to drummer for studio sessions, live performances and tours.
