A Texas cowgirl made in China, Lia Bai is a Christian comedian who weaves storytelling, inspiration, and punchlines to turn life’s mishaps into laughter. Her comedy offers a fresh, relatable perspective on relationships, motherhood, career, aging, and the immigrant experience.
Once a “dull engineer,” Lia found her way to stand-up comedy through the twists and turns of her life and career. Today, she performs regularly at comedy clubs, festivals, and private events. Most recently, she made Best of Fest at the 2025 Plano Comedy Festival.

Lia Bai is a very unique comedian as she is from China and lives in Texas! That, right there, will make you laugh!! She has so many funny stories to share from her adventure!! She has an "all out or go home" personality that will keep your attention in just a conversation!!

When my 501(c)3 non-profit organization planned on an all-women panel about finding fulfillment within our careers, we split the audience into 2 categories of interest: career-pivot and career-focus. We knew that Lia Bai would be perfect keynote speaker about career pivots. Communication with her was easy and clear, and mutually beneficial terms were discussed when booking her for our program. Her humorous anecdotes and conversation between spaghetti and noodles talk had all attendees laughing. The audience interaction felt very natural, and her ability to connect through personal stories made a lasting impression of authentic engagement. I hope to work with her again in the future!
