Leilah Moon Bellydance

Leilah Moon’s beautiful bellydance shows are exciting cultural entertainment. Known for her joyful and passionate stage presence and jaw-dropping technique, her dance, combined with authentic costuming and music, will delight and enchant guests of all ages. A show usually consists of a single 20-25 minute set with props, an exciting drum solo, and tons of audience participation. Props include: veil, fanveils, wings, cane (assaya), shamadan, sword, and even a candle tray balancing act! Longer shows are considered two sets and may include costume change, which will be reflected in the pricing.

Any show can be customized to your event's needs. Special requests for props, music, costuming, or even specific cultural dances (i.e. Zeffa for wedding, Saidi, Khaleeji, etc). If your party is oriented towards younger guests or a more conservative crowd, Leilah Moon has more conservative costuming available and can make special accommodations such as games and lessons for children.

Hosting a bridal shower, Ladies Night, or corporate event? How about a dance lesson instead of or in addition to the show? Leilah is an instructor at the renowned Sahara Dance in Washington, DC and has taught classes at all levels.

Leilah Moon traditionally dances to classical Egyptian and Arabic music, as well as Sha'abi, pop and dance music from the Middle East. Special requests for music can definitely be accommodated.

Leilah Moon is an international multiple award-winning professional belly dancer; she is the recipient of 1st Place Solo Professional and People’s Choice awards in the 2018 East Coast Classic Belly Dance Competition, the 1st Place Solo Professional Oriental at the 2024 Marhaba Festival Miss Euro Competition in Italy, and 1st Place Solo Professional Raqs Sharqi at Essence of Belly Dance Competition. You can catch her performing regularly at venues throughout the DC area.

She also performs regularly with Seven Egyptian Dance Company, a diverse ensemble specializing in folkloric Egyptian dance.

Leilah began her dance journey is 2008 and has studied with many internationally renowned instructors.

Leilah is part of the faculty at Sahara Dance in DC and teaches weekly classes and regular workshops.
