Overview

Ever wonder how some people can roll out of bed with a smile and a sparkle in their eyes, ready to take on whatever the day has for them? How some of us can deal with rude, argumentative people without losing their cool? We cannot change a situation we find ourselves in, nor change another person; we only have complete control over how we look at life. Having a positive attitude lets you flip the switch in your brain when the tough times hit so you can re-frame faster, see more explicit ways to deal with the situation or person, and then move on. There is humor in almost every situation - Roberta will help you nurture your "Humor Bone" so you can laugh and discover ways to smile more.

About

As a Recreation Therapist for the past 29 years, I have worked with many of the premiere healthcare facilities. I have created and applied specialized therapy programs for a multitude of physically and mentally challenged patient populations, including people with spinal cord injuries, schizophrenia, and other mental illnesses, and people with visual and hearing impairments.

Over ten years ago, I began incorporating the use of Humor and laughter in my programs at these facilities while lecturing and writing on the myriad medical benefits derived from the unique but important characteristics inherent in using humor as a therapeutic tool.

Teaching people how to view and interact with others in a more positive manner in our society has proven to be a rewarding endeavor for me.

I also focus my efforts on reaching out to the youth in our communities – those youngsters in elementary and middle school – to provide much-needed support in the area of stress management and communication to help prevent the negative effects of bullying and increase resilience. In addition, my parenting and teacher programs provide tools to reduce stress and raise happier children. This unique program is called Laughter Rocks! Our young people are our future. It is up to us to stand up, be responsible for them, and help supply them with the necessary tools.

Laughter for the Health of it, uses interactive techniques to help you see the Humor instead of the Horror in our complex world and to find ways to nurture your "Humor Bone,” specializing in promoting teambuilding within corporations and organizations, resolving conflicts, dealing with difficult people and situations; building resiliency in our youth; aiding teachers on ways to “humorize” the classroom; increasing productivity; increasing communication skills; and being able to live a happier, laugh-filled life!

Roberta is the author of Laughter Rocks! Tips and Tools to Help You Keep Your Cool and Have a More Positive Mindset and her first book, The Family That Laughs Together - A Quick Guide to Sanity When You Feel Like Screaming. She has a chapter – Life is an Attitude, in the book - The Power of Transformation: Reinventing Yourself. All are geared to help you have a more positive mindset. She is also a contributor to over 13 other books. Laughter Rocks! 2.0 is being published now.

Roberta is an inspirational keynote and breakout speaker, author, and Attitude Adjustment Coach. She is President of the Association for Applied and Therapeutic Humor. Her free weekly e-newsletter, Laughter Rocks! Tips and tools to help you keep your cool no matter what, is read worldwide.

Roberta has developed programs for students, parents, and teachers offering tools for raising resilient and happy children. She provides ongoing groups for those dealing with domestic abuse and their children, providing ways to laugh and have fun again. Roberta runs a weekly Zoom – Parent Power Happy Hour, to talk about the good, the not-so-good, and the hilarious parts of parenting and The Sanity Savers, a six-week therapy group for developing a more positive attitude.
