Always Entertaining

We have seen Larry perform in Austin and Belton, as well as heard him at a private party with just a small group of people in an intimate setting. His show is always entertaining and he really interacts with the audience and takes their requests. He has a wonderful soothing voice and seeing him perform is a wonderful way to spend an evening.

About

From A Very Young age Larry knew what direction his life would take him. Music has always been his passion. As a young boy Larry was always excited to be singing in church and for school musical programs. As a teenager in the seventies he was influenced by many of the Country and Rock Artists of the time and particularly drawn to the music style of a then a new artist named Jimmy Buffet with his songs about oceans, beaches and a tropical lifestyle. The Texas “Outlaw” music artists also strongly influenced his music style.
Growing up in a farming family in a small community traditional country music and country gospel was what he knew best. By the time he was old enough to sneak in he was hanging around the local live music hotspots and musicians looking for a chance to sit in and learn from the more experienced artists in the business. From humble beginnings in the country bars and honky tonks of Amarillo, Texas and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma he soon joined his first professional band and started to refine his craft as a singer, front man, MC and total entertainer.
Spending most of the next years of his life in regional bands and on the road performing with national acts, he had the good fortune to work with artists including Freddie Fender, Tammy Wynette, Jerry Reed, Earl Thomas Conely, Garth Brooks, Johnny Lee, Sawyer Brown, and John Anderson just to name a few. Larry has traveled extensively around the U.S. doing the job he loved. Along the way Larry also enjoyed performing in live theater with a special passion for stage musicals. Founding several successful annual charity events and working as a concert promoter and event planner are just some of the ways Larry learned the music business inside and out.
Although Larry’s favorite music to perform is what he calls “Coastal and Western” including many cover songs by artists like Jimmy Buffett he also sings many standards and not so standards of country music as well as some great cover songs from Neil Diamond and other rock and pop stars of the sixties, seventies and eighties.
In addition to his musical talents Larry has performed in many musical and non musical theatrical productions including “The Time of Your Life”, “Guys and Dolls”, “Big River”, “Oklahoma”, “Melody Hall”, “South Pacific” as well as one of his favorite roles playing the bandleader in “The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas” because it mixed theater with his love of performing Country Music. His television credits include creating, writing and performing in 3 music and entertainment television shows as well as several years as one of the regional co-hosts and emcees of the Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon in West Texas. Larry is currently enjoying an ongoing role as a Willoughby, Texas Townsperson in the NBC hit drama Revolution
Additionally Larry has owned and operated a successful Entertainment magazine, a Musical Booking Agency and has owned, managed and operated various night club venues giving him a unique perspective on the needs and expectations by night club or other performance venues.
When not performing Larry enjoys spending time at his home in the country near Austin, Texas spending as much time as possible with a favorite pastime, his animals. This includes his Dogs, Horses, Chickens, Bee’s and even a very lovable Parrot named Kea who accompanies him to many of his musical performances.
After several years of only performing for friends, weddings and smaller affairs Larry has recently re-launched his musical career and is looking forward to making new friends and sharing his music talents.
