Born and raised in Clarkston, Michigan, singer-songwriter-musician Larkn grew up spending summers on sparkling Lake Michigan. She attended Berklee College of Music (Boston, MA) for voice and contemporary writing and production and later moved to and lived in Los Angeles. She has performed in churches, music venues and recording studios across the country, holds a certificate in audio engineering and is Avid certified in Pro Tools. Her music is inspired by the up and downs of her music and life journey and the tangible and intangible world around. She is available for solo gigs or with a band. Larkn performs solo on guitar, keyboard or both for 30 minutes up to 4 hours. Most of the songs are original in a pop, country, singer-songwriter style Ala Collie Caillat, Taylor Swift, Alanis Morissette, Sheryl Crow, etc. with some maybe some covers thrown in (Justin Bieber, Shania Twain, Lady Gaga, etc.) that are singable. Her music is upbeat and mostly/can be family-friendly.
Larkn also performs with a band (usually drums, bass guitar and lead guitar) for weddings, private parties, events, bars/venues, etc. with originals for a mix of her signature acoustic pop, country, singer-songwriter style of music with more dance/pop elements, (while can also play electric guitar) for 30 minutes up to 4 hours (with 10 minute breaks).
A classically trained vocalist and piano player, Larkn has performed at weddings, church services, ceremonies, sports events and parades and is available to be hired for these types of gigs. Comfortable repertoire includes popular music from 1940 to 2025, beginner to moderate classical music with sheet music, her own original music songs which is in a pop style of music and most music with chord charts.
Larkn is a talented singer songwriter from Clarkston, Michigan. She attended the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, then lived in Los Angeles, perfecting her craft. Now residing in Ann Arbor, she plays gigs at many local venues. Her versatile style has hints of pop, rock, Americana and soul. Her original, genuine, uplifting style connects with many audiences.
Larkn provides all instruments, chords and mics for her performance and if a PA is needed she has
-a high quality small speaker system/unit for small spaces (i.e. small bars, coffee shops, small-medium rooms, etc.) on wheels with 3 inputs, good for herself and one other musician.
-and a portable fender PA speaker system for larger spaces (has used this PA in malls) with a 12 channel Tascam mixer that has eq functions, recording functions, some effects and can be routed to a floor monitor (if needed).
-she also has a small cordless battery powered amp which is suitable for outdoor performing, small patios and small kid's events.
Larkn does not include lights, smoke or a stage unless requested and there are extra costs.
