Lanny was an excellent drummer to play upbeat/modern music alongside our DJ, despite not even knowing our DJ beforehand. Lanny was very professional, responsive, easy to work with, and brought an extra spark to our dance floor during our reception. Lanny is a true professional. Not the type that demands attention or requires a lot of maintenance. He comes in smiling, works with what's given and has fun doing what is always professional quality work. He reads music well, a veteran of much professional work and a great guy. He worked with my theatre company inside a youth prison - an unpredictable environment that is not necessary comfortable. He quickly learned relatively complicated music and worked collaboratively with a skilled, yet very young music director - a concern that was quickly allayed by his support for the music and respect for fellow musicians of all ages and types. I highly recommend Lanny for people that need a calm, easy and talented musician they can trust.

Lanny Grilly is a drum virtuoso. His versatility in support of Turkish musician Umut Deniz Topcuoglu made our event a true partnership of artists. Although Lanny and Umut Deniz speak different languages, musically they were on the exact same wave length. Lanny's years of experience speak to his generosity of spirit, and the warm rapport he brought to our rehearsals and performance. We were indeed fortunate to collaborate with him.
