Overview

Milton's music is like sipping a Margarita with Jimmy Buffet and James Taylor in a hot tub. He has performed multiple times at Vikings and Twins football and baseball. He is retired as a musician in the Army and has been an integral part of the Minnesota music scene for over 30 years. He is a multi-instrumentalist who plays all of the instruments on his self-titled album (Joshua Milton-Just Plain Crazy) which has been featured on Radio and internet programs throughout the Midwest.

The 3 piece band available showcases the music perfectly as if you just entered a honkey tonk on Broadway in Nashville.

Gig length: 20 - 240 minutes

What to expect

We have a small, 3 piece band (with a possibility of a 4th) that has the capability of providing our own P.A. system, as well as lights. We are all adults (of a certain age) that have more than 100 years of combined experience performing. Our Set up can vary significantly, from small to large stages and requirements.

Our show is extremely similar to any band that you would see in a Honkey Tonk on Broadway in Nashville. We tend to focus on the songs, rather than bore the audience with 20 minute songs.

Set list

Milton's Playhouse music primarily consists of music that Milton has written, as well as tunes that he wished that he's written. There's quite a bit of influences, including Tower of Power, Blues Brothers, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Erik Clapton, Aretha Franklin, Robben Ford and a Multitude of others.

The band specifically likes to take songs and add our own twist, whether that be a slightly different arrangement than the original, or maybe a different speed or vibe to the songs. Its a fun way to keep the original songs relevant and interesting for modern listeners. However, there are some songs that just can't be improved upon and just have to be covered as is.

Setup requirements

This requirement is certainly dependent on each specific event, although electricity (minimum 2, 20 amp circuits) and some sort of coverage (outdoor events) is usually necessary for a inclement weather situation.
