Founded in March 2017, The L Train Brass Band (LTBB) quickly grew from a small, second-line brass band interest group on Meetup to a thriving music community of over 100 members. This community-centric, organizational approach allows the band to morph and adapt to variety of gig situations whether it's a 12-piece party band, a 50-piece marching unit, or anything in-between.
This rotating, ragtag ensemble is excited by the opportunity to play anywhere and everywhere, covering a wide variety of music, from pop and hip-hop – to funk and traditional Dixieland jazz – to eclectic original charts. No matter where this train ends up, the primary goals are “fun first” and “keeping it weird".

March 19, 2019I'm so glad we booked L Train Brass Band for our Mardi Gras-themed event. Prior to the event, they were very responsive and receptive to our asks. On the day of the event, band members showed up early/on-time. Once the band started performing, everyone was blown away; they sounded spectacular! They played for the duration of our event (about 2 hours), which was perfect. A bonus is that they have such a positive mission. Hopefully, there is an opportunity in the future for the band to come and play for us again!
