WHAT I DO- I am a singer/songwriter, a worship leader, and a speaker. I can do all 3 for an event, just one or whatever combo you want/need.
WHY I DO IT - I have 3 goals when I speak, sing or write: 1. To reveal the reality and power of God's love 2. To relate to people in their struggles and victories 3. To inspire people to make positive life-changing choices.
IN A NUTSHELL- As a singer/songwriter: I write Relate-able, fun, raw pop. As a worship leader: I am passionate, sensitive, and energetic. As a speaker: I am scriptural, relate-able, and dare I say, funny.
Kim did an amazing job as our guest speaker during MOPs! If that wasn't enough, she blew us away with her amazing voice singing a couple songs at the end of her talk. What a powerful event. We we're so thankful to have her and give her five stars!
Kim Newmyer is great to collaborate with at Women’s events. Her heart and worship style adapt to any venue and her vocals are jaw- dropping. Most women’s events need to tap into the issues of a woman’s heart and each time we have worked together she has ushered in the Spirit to do His mighty healing work.
We had Kim come to our 2017 women's retreat for Magnolia Church, Riverside. She did a fantastic job and coordinated well with our guest speaker, Roxanna Grimes. She had music that went so well with our theme and her heart for the Lord was very apparent. We were blessed. Some of our ladies made the trip to see her in concert recently because they enjoyed her immensely.
Response from Kim Newmyer:
Thank You Sabina. It was a pleasure :-)
I had the privilege of working with Kim when she was on staff at our church, Shoreline Baptist, in Fountain Valley. I was sad when God led her and her husband, Matt to a new ministry; but happy for her as she finally was able to work on and complete production of a music album in November of 2017.
Last week, January 11th, she returned to Shoreline to present a concert and speak to our senior adults at their monthly luncheon. We, of course, knew and loved her wonderful voice, having experienced hearing her as a member of our praise team, but we were blown away by her songwriting and speaking.
I had previously heard her album, Soul Surgery, and loved the pace of the music, lyrics, her beautiful voice and was so looking forward to hearing her in person. She sounds so much better in person! Two reasons.
First, you get to see and feel that passion and energy as she sings...and her love for and trust in God as you watch her tremendous smile as she energetically sings her testimony. Secondly, before each song from her album, she told the story of how she came to write the verses. She passionately sang about some high and low points in her life and the song took more intense meaning as I now knew from her testimony how God was working in her life. Just thought of a third reason, but this is just personal. Her album has great musical accompaniment - electrical musical instruments - done very well. However, in her presentation for us she brought Matt, a staff member from her church, and he accompanied her on an acoustic guitar. To me, it was simple, clear, clean, very appropriate and personal in our small venue.
Kim touched and blessed our Agebusters (name for our Senior Adult Ministry) last week. After Kim left, I had many seniors come up to me and thank me for having her come.
I highly recommend her to any event as she is not only a top-notch singer and songwriter, but a great communicator and speaks very genuinely, passionately, and honestly about her life and her Lord.
Response from Kim Newmyer:
Thanks Bob! It was a blessing :-)
We have the privilege to have Kim Newmyer lead us in worship once a month at re|engage, the marriage ministry on Monday nights at Crosspointe Church in Anaheim. She is a great leader, helping others draw into a time of intimate worship with Jesus. She has the ability to create an inviting atmosphere to connect with God and enter into worship. In addition, she has been a speaker at re|engage. Kim has shared her story not only in word but also in song. She seamlessly wove her original songs into her testimony to connect her story, emotions, spiritual journey, and healing all together. Her new CD, Soul Surgery takes you on that journey of her story. The feedback from our participants was amazing! They all felt moved emotionally and spiritually. Everyone had something to connect with and relate to in their lives.
We look forward to a continued relationship and connection with Kim! We are truly blessed to have her lead and speak at our church and in our marriage ministry.

What to Expect
I am very flexible. I have lead worship at retreats with just me and a guitar player (Heck, I even had to lead worship a capella once because my poor guitar player got stuck in the So Cal Fire traffic!). I have also lead worship with a full band, tracks and production team at large venues. All that to say, I have experience leading worship in all situations. I pride myself on being sensitive to the speaker/theme/ topic/and Holy Spirit when choosing songs and leading. I also understand that every denomination, event and church has a unique "culture" and expectations. That is why I am a very open and a clear communicator, making sure to lead worship in a way that will relate to your audience/event.
Although I can "only" speak I am usually asked to speak and sing. Often I weave my song(s) into my teaching or testimony (when it is appropriate). However, I am very flexible and can do whatever is needed. Topics: Contentment, Identity in Christ, Marriage, Parenting, Grief, Why scripture matters, Why community matters, Worship, Worship through music, Doubting God/Unbelief, Learning to trust God, Less Stress < More Peace.
Currently I am the Worship Director at Canyon Hills Friends Church in Yorba Linda, CA. Although I love leading worship music, I don't write much of it. I mainly craft pop songs that are brutally honest, raw and true to my faith all at the same time.
I use my life experiences as inspiration in my music and speaking. I have had a better life than I deserve but I have also suffered a bit. Both are blessings and great teachers when viewed through scripture. Although I have spoken and sang for high school ministries, college ministries, and kids ministries (and loved it) my current album/music relates heavily to women's, marriage, and grief & recovery ministries.
Here's why- I'm a recovering co-dependent/people pleaser, my husband and I have worked through some rough patches, my dad passed away of cancer in 2015, I lost a baby to an ectopic pregnancy that nearly killed me and I'm thankful. And this is all just from the last 3 years. God has done so much more over my short life so far and I love to share His work.
