Overview

Event planners and clients can expect a professional act, from initial contact, through load-in, sound check, performance, break-down, and post-event wrap-up. We have a standard repertoire that spans pop/rock music of the 70's, 80's, 90's, and current hits. We also have a holiday set that is a great mix of the traditional (with a twist) and covers of popular pop artists' Christmas music. We can, with advanced notice, learn repertoire specific to your event.

Audiences can expect a tight, in-tune vocal sound with vocal imitations of instruments and percussion. Our vocal arrangements are custom-made and feature tight harmonies, varied rhythmic feels, and layered vocal lines. We specialize in coming up with inventive ways to treat popular songs, but sing some of our repertoire in a familiar manner as well.

Additional Booking Notes

KeyStone is at home performing in both amplified and acoustical environments. The majority of their repertoire features a lead vocalist, background vocals and vocal instrumentals, vocal bass, and vocal percussion (beatbox). KeyStone uses a simple tech setup with six microphones, monitors, and mains with minimal compression and reverb. We can supply our own gear if needed or can sing on your house system with standard Shure SM-58's or equivalent, although we prefer singing on wireless mics. We can supply our own sound equipment and sound technician at additional cost or can work with your house sound technician. We require no special light cues. If food is provided as part of a contract, it must be peanut-free.

KeyStone has already been coached by some of the most accomplished and respected names in contemporary a cappella singing. Barry Carl, the original bass singer with the internationally-acclaimed vocal group Rockapella, said: “Very pro. Great dynamics and musicality. Great bass and percussion work. How many modulations were in that song?” Nationally-recognized a cappella arranger and performer Tom Anderson stated: “These are great arrangements sung well. You were three-for-three on great soloists. I have no constructive criticism to add – that was so good.” Amy Engelhardt, former member of the legendary a cappella quartet The Bobs complimented KeyStone's inventive musical arrangements, stating “KeyStone is going to interesting places in their arrangements and choice of material.”

KeyStone is a proud member of the Contemporary A Cappella League sponsored by the Contemporary A Cappella Society of America. They have performed at The Birchmere in Alexandria, VA as part of the Harmony Sweepstakes Mid-Atlantic Regional Competition, were selected as featured performers for the CAL Showcase at VoCALnation A Cappella Festival in Washington, D.C., and served as hosts for the VoCALnation National A Cappella Festival in Philadelphia, PA in 2013. Upcoming gigs include the Hard Rock Cafe in Philly, and the Waterfront Stage at Penn's Landing.
