When I am sent a lead on Gig Salad I contact that client first. Then I send a booking agreement to that client. I usually ask the client for a set list and discuss and decide what set list they would like for me to play that their event. I show up to the event 30 min early to warm and set up. I usually bring a music stand, a stand light ( outdoor events), an acoustic or electric violin. I also bring an amplifier for the electric violin. I take a ten min break for every hour of playing. I enjoy playing for birthday parties, weddings, special events, and all of the other types of events listed. I enjoy playing the violin and creating a pleasurable atmosphere for people to enjoy. I like to make each event special and memorable for the client. Usually I wear black for traditional events but if there is a theme in the event I try to dress with it.
I currently also play in a quartet (2 violins, viola, and a cello) This quartet brings a beautiful balanced sound for bigger events such as weddings and or celebrations, dances and or parties. The quartet is made up of four musicians that moved to Nashville for the music. Although the cost of the quartet is significantly higher then the solo it is worth the while.
When it comes to repertoire I have a large one. I usually ask the client what kind of music they would like for their event. We discuss what would be appropriate. I have performed classical Mozart and modern Beyonce. I also enjoy playing traditional Celtic and Irish music.

My name is Caitlin and I am a classical violinist from New York. I enjoy playing the violin and have played for over ten years. I grew up in upstate New York and moved down to Nashville five years ago to attend college. I have finally graduated with a degree in Music Education from Trevecca Nazarene University. My minor was performance violin. I also sing and play piano but my main focus is on the violin. After five years of college I have decided to play the violin professionally.
When scheduled for an event I make contact with the event coordinator a minimum of two times. The first conversation that I have with the event coordinator would be sort of like an interview about the event. I would ask questions about the event, times, dress, song genres and atmosphere. Then we would go over what kind of music the coordinator would like at the event. We would choose off of my set list and then determine the next contact time. The second or last contact that I make with the event coordinator I would consider as a confirmation. You can always expect me 20 min before my actual play time. I will always bring a music stand, my violin and any other equipment needed to perform. My set up time is 10 min and my warm up time is 10 min. So after 20 min I will be ready to play the gig. I am excited to work with anyone who needs a violinist on board!!!
I enjoy playing in bands and have experience with chamber musicians, orchestras, solo concerts, weddings, parties, holiday events. I also currently play in the Trevecca Symphony Orchestra. I enjoy reading, writing music, and playing the violin.

I currently play both acoustic and electric instruments for events. I enjoy the acoustic for intimate settings and the electric for larger venues. If I use an electric for an event I will need an outlet to plug in my amplifier. If I play with a band I will need to be miked if I use the acoustic. Also if I am playing an outdoor event and it is scheduled in the evening it will get dark. I usually bring a stand light with me to play outside. I use a small music stand and it does not take up much room.
