I can provide background music for your event, lead your karaoke/sing-along, or play keys for your show. I can perform either solo piano or piano and vocal in any of the following styles: jazz, blues, folk, musical theater, or pop. I will play any type of event in the Philadelphia area (I am occasionally in the NY/NJ area as well). I am willing to travel farther, if necessary, so please contact.

I am a cancer genomics researcher who loves to gig as a pianist and vocalist. I studied Physics in school, but I also got a minor in Music from Lafayette College. I have played in jazz combos and as a solo pianist at many weddings, cocktail hours, holiday parties, birthdays and more. I have played in blues bands, jam bands, and rock bands on keyboard and vocals, and I even directed and performed with an a cappella group in the past.
I have been playing piano since I was a child but starting in high school and college I focused specifically on jazz and blues piano. My singing began in musical theater and choirs, but I grew most as a singer when I performed with blues/folk bands.
My musical influences mostly reveal themselves in my improvisation which can range from Ray Charles and Dr. John influenced blues playing to Bill Evans and Oscar Peterson influenced jazz. However, I am always more than happy to cater to the atmosphere of the event.
If I am booked for an event I could play jazz standards, blues, popular party songs, classic or new folk music. I have a wide repertoire of music and influences which I can pull from and I am always willing to learn music for the event.

I can provide keyboard, amplification, and vocal mic (if vocals are requested). If you have a piano on site, that's great! If not, all I need is an outlet.
