Jordani & The Sun Kings first started as the solo project of songwriter & producer, Jordani Sarreal. Gathering together the rhythm section of neo-soul artist, Dwele (Benji Demps - drums; Noe Rodriguez - bass), and local guitarist and producer, Max Watters, the four-piece started playing local shows of Jordani's original Motown-inspired soul pop music.
Very quickly, the chemistry was realized. This wasn't a backing band of a solo artist, this was a creative collaboration made entirely of songwriters and producers. The group was then renamed, and hit the road as Jordani & The Sun Kings.
Combining the sounds of nostalgic soul, pop melodies and hooks, R&B grooves, and jazz voicings - Jordani & The Sun Kings creates a sound all their own that pushes genre boundaries, while creating a bed of familiarity in the delivery and sensibilities. A sound they've taken up and down the west coast, recorded a live album, are currently recording in the studio - all in one year.
