I been playing for about 20 years now and have recorded two original albums. About
Born in Northeast Philadelphia on November 16, 1977, Johnny was a quiet laid back guy who went with the flow. As he grew to be a teenager he would play the church piano and wanted lessons but his parents could not afford them. He later picked up his first guitar at Boy Scout camp and learned a few chords. Johnny became consistent and would not give up. He went on take up guitar lessons at the age of 19. After taking lessons for a year he played first talent show and ran off stage leaving his guitar behind. It appeared stage fright caught Johnny by surprise. Later he worked up the confidence to go to his first open mic night at the Coffee Connection. As time went on he ended up hosting the open mic night and moved on to Stevenson's Place. This is where he acquired the name Johnny Freakin Balls. Johnny stepped to the mic and said "Freakin" the crowd replied "Balls". He was then on known as Johnny Freakin Balls. Balls went on to play at many more open mic nights and then started playing acoustic acts at the Rusty Nail, World Cafe Live, and Grape Street Pub. Next, Johnny came out with his first CD called "Journey to John's World" with his hit songs "Lying and Cheating Girl" and "Come Back Michael". A year or two later he completed a second CD "Attack of The Freakin Balls". "Smarty Jones" became his next hit land on internet radio with a large number or plays. Johnny Balls played in cover and original bands but loved his original music. He is still performing today working on his next CD.
