Overview

Acoustic solo act with harmonies, John Macom specializes in great songs from the 80's and 90's with a good measure of Beatles and Bowie era tunes. If you are looking for the perfect mellow, feel-good evening JM is your man. Not your typical "Margaritaville" solo act. You've heard his music on Dawson's Creek and Party of Five.

A Class Act

I hired John to play at my husband’s 50th birthday party. He was professional, on time and easy to work with. His set list was great and he sounded amazing. My guests loved the vibe and I’m still getting compliments on his performance. Would definitely hire again!

Professional & Perfect for Any Event

John was a professional and great sounding musician for my fiance's 40th birthday party. He felt the vibe of the event, set up with ease and was very kind. He was on time and did not need any assistance and just did his thing. I would recommend him as a guitarist/vocalist for any event! Superb!

Booking information

Price range: $160 and up

Languages: English

Gig length: 60 - 180 minutes

What to expect

I am accustomed to playing two 1-hour sets with a 15 minute break in between sets. I can play longer if necessary. I can do requests but need to know way in advance if there are particular songs you specifically want to hear. I will let you know in advance if there are songs I cannot play (or will not have time to learn before the gig). If you like Tom Petty, The Beatles, U2, The Cure, The Who, REM, etc., I am ideal for your cocktail hour, bar or restaurant event, house party, back-yard or stadium event. Your audience will be left wanting to hear more.

About

John Macom (pronounced "May Come") has been performing as a solo acoustic artist in the tri-state area covering hits from the 80's, 90's and with a good measure of Beatles & Bowie inspired playlists. You have heard his songs on Dawson’s Creek, Felicity, Party of Five, amongst other teen dramas with his band Binge. You may have heard his “Anna Kournikova” song on the E! True Hollywood Story or "TennisTunes" by Binge featured on CBS and Sports Illustrated. Find out why John Macom is one of the most sought after performers in the NYC area. Based on the Queens, Long Island border, he is willing to travel to the Jersey Shore (where he is from originally), Philadelphia, Fairfield, Montauk, Boston and of course NYC. Maybe Poughkeepsie.

Additional booking notes

I have and will bring all my own gear which includes sound system, mic, stands and of course guitar. I just need a grounded (i.e., 3-prong) outlet within 50 feet of the performance area. I can fit into a small corner of your living room, cocktail area, or on the edge of a pier (as I've done in Hoboken, NJ). I sing through a harmonizer so it sounds like a whole band! If your event is outdoors, you may need to check your town to see if you need a sound permit. Outdoors I cannot play below 62 degrees - too cold for my guitar.
