Jennifer Kennedy, Freelance Flutist

As an active performer, Jennifer Kennedy has played in bands and orchestras across the United States, Canada, and Europe. The most notable of these performances being at the Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, in Arkansas with the Hot Springs Music Festival Orchestra, in the University of North Texas Symphonic Band and Concert Orchestra, in Vancouver with the Pacific Regional International Music Summer Academy (PRISMA) Philharmonic, and in Périgueux, France with the opera orchestra for the FAVA Vocal Academy. She has experience playing in pit orchestras including performances of My Fair Lady and Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, and the opera La Belle Hélène. As a soloist, Jennifer won second place at the Atlanta Flute Club’s Young Artist Competition, third place in the Oklahoma Flute Society’s Collegiate Competition, and she was a concerto competition finalist at PRISMA. Jennifer also received awards at multiple youth solo competitions and festivals including the Southern California Junior Bach Festival, the Southwestern Youth Music Festival, and the Southern California School Band and Orchestra Association. Jennifer also teaches flute privately. While earning her Bachelor’s at UNT, she taught in the Kennedale, Texas Independent School District. She is a member of the Phi Tau Chapter of Mu Phi Epsilon, Pi Kappa Lambda, and several other honor societies and organizations. Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Music Degree in Flute Performance from the University of North Texas, where she studied with Terri Sundberg, and a Master of Music from Stony Brook University, where she studied with Carol Wincenc. She has also studied with Francine Ross Pancost, Mary Karen Clardy, Dr. James Scott, Dr. Elizabeth McNutt, and Jim Walker.

For any performance, I would like to discuss set-up and equipment details with the client ahead of time. Particular technical requirements will vary from event to event, so I prepare to individually discuss with each client as events are scheduled. I am flexible given varying conditions and circumstances.
