The music was phenomenal and they added wonderful moments specific to Josh and found ways to include songs and items special to him. They were respectful to the family and guests, even letting one guest have a run on the drums. Highly recommend!

Jefferson Street Strutters has been entertaining Washington DC area audiences for more than 15 years with appearances at the ball park, numerous retirement communities, the Smithsonian Museum, and multiple appearances before the prestigious Potomac River Jazz Club.
Its players are musical pros from diverse locales and heady day jobs. They're united by a love for lively New Orleans style jazz where most of the members have spent time studying jazz and playing it at jazz fests and the historic Preservation Hall. They have second-lined and jammed in the clubs.
They know how to entertain and keep the mood upbeat.
The band is low maintenance. We need reasonable access to the site including parking arrangements and elevator if possible. We prefer to be on a riser of about 8x12 feet but that is not required. We do need access to at least two electrical receptacles within about 10 or 15 feet of the playing space. We would like to have a tuned and playable piano but if we know in advance one isn't available, we can supply a keyboard.
The band would appreciate a sound system (two or three mics, amp, speakers) but if one isn't available the band can provide one for a small fee.
Every band would love to be fed depending on the timing of the event but that is not a hard/fast requirement. Water and snacks may suffice.

All its member pay homage to the greatest player of all, Louis Armstrong. They will never try to imitate him but do borrow from the many melodies and interpretations he left behind.
There were and area many other greats in the heartland and on both coats to emulate so each of the Strutters band members keeps their ears open, borrowing a phrase where it's suitable to keep their music fresh and inventive.
