I'm generally a solo performer, though I'm also somewhat well-connected in the local music scene, and have been known to team up with other local musicians for special occasions, open-mic events and other collaborations. I play 6- & 12-string guitar, uke and mandolin to accompany my vocals, with an eclectic mix of mostly cover tunes. My 'jsmithsolo' ReverbNation page is probably the best place on-line to view some of my photos & videos, along with a handful of audio cuts. RevNat has had me showing among their Top-10 acts on their local 'South Bay Pop' chart. FYI, I also won a trip to Mexico in The Saddlerack's 12-week 'Male Vocal Competition' a few years back, just so you know! ;- )

September 5, 2023We hired Jeff for an outdoor BBQ in the redwoods and he was great! The music was the perfect complement to the event and we received many wonderful comments about his music from our guests. Highly recommend!

September 7, 2018Jeff came for my wife's 50th surprise party. Words can't describe enough our shear enjoyment and extreme satisfaction of having Jeff come to our home and play/sing such a wonderful variety of classical rock songs. We plan on having Jeff back for our next event!

Engaging sets of well-crafted, popular acoustic-guitar based material, grounded in 70's folk-rock, but always working to keep it more current, as well. I'm often complimented on my vocal talents (most often compared to Gordon Lightfoot and/or Eddie Vedder, with a little James Taylor thrown in). I try to keep my performances well-balanced and 'easy on the ears,' and I pride myself on having a pretty good sense of what songs are most appropriate and fitting for a given crowd or setting, pulling from my deep well of musical meanderings garnered from my over 30 years of playing, primarily in restaurant lounges, bars and coffeehouses.
