What to expect

When you hire Jason as your emcee, you’re hiring more than someone to make announcements—you’re hiring someone to lead the room with confidence, professionalism, and personality.

Jason keeps your event moving, your audience engaged, and your program on schedule while adapting seamlessly to the unexpected. Whether he’s introducing speakers, facilitating games, recognizing award recipients, interviewing guests, or energizing the crowd, his focus is always on making your event successful.

As a professional stand-up comedian, Jason brings natural humor, quick wit, and years of live performance experience to every event. That experience helps him connect with audiences and keep energy high, but an emcee engagement is not a stand-up comedy show. Rather than performing a comedy set, Jason uses humor appropriately throughout the event to keep guests entertained while ensuring the spotlight remains on your organization, speakers, or celebration.

From corporate meetings and fundraisers to galas, awards ceremonies, private parties, and community events, Jason creates an atmosphere that is polished, engaging, and memorable—so your guests leave talking about your event for all the right reasons.

About

Jason Schuster is a professional stand-up comedian, seasoned emcee, and live event host who specializes in turning groups of strangers into engaged, energized audiences. With more than a decade of experience in stand-up comedy, improvisation, and live event hosting, he brings professionalism, quick thinking, and genuine audience connection to every event.

Jason spent over ten years performing throughout the Los Angeles comedy scene, where he built his career performing stand-up at many of the nation’s premier comedy clubs while also training at The Groundlings, one of the country’s most respected improv schools. That combination of stand-up and improvisation allows him to think on his feet, adapt to any audience, recover seamlessly from unexpected moments, and keep events moving naturally with confidence and humor.

Now based in the Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia region, Jason has entertained audiences at comedy clubs, casinos, theaters, corporate events, fundraisers, weddings, and private celebrations across the country. From intimate gatherings to audiences of hundreds, he knows how to read a room and deliver exactly the right energy for the occasion.

As a principal emcee at Maryland Live! Casino, Jason has hosted promotions, giveaways, contests, VIP events, and live entertainment for thousands of guests. His approach to emceeing is centered on the event itself—keeping everything organized, engaging, and on schedule while making announcements feel entertaining instead of routine. He understands that the focus should always remain on the client and their guests.

When booked as a stand-up comedian, Jason delivers a customized comedy show built for the audience and venue. His performances feature relatable storytelling, quick audience interaction, and clean or customized material tailored to your event. Stand-up comedy is offered as a dedicated performance and is separate from his emcee services, ensuring each experience is designed specifically for its purpose.

As the founder of Main Event Comedy Entertainment, Jason also understands events from the production side. Having produced and hosted shows nationwide, he knows the importance of preparation, communication, timelines, and working seamlessly with venues, vendors, and event staff. Clients appreciate his reliability, professionalism, and ability to make the entire event feel effortless.

Jason is available for:
• Corporate events and holiday parties
• Wedding emcee services
• Awards banquets and galas
• Casino promotions and entertainment
• Fundraisers and nonprofit events
• Private parties and milestone celebrations
• Stand-up comedy performances
• Customized roasts and specialty performances

Whether you’re looking for an experienced emcee to confidently guide your event or a professional comedian to deliver a memorable comedy show, Jason brings the experience, energy, and professionalism to make your event one your guests will remember long after the final applause.

Additional booking notes

For most events, Jason keeps technical needs simple and flexible. A basic sound system with a working microphone is usually all that is required. If a full system is not available, Jason can discuss bringing his own portable mic and speaker for smaller events.
Preferred setup:
• One handheld wireless microphone (or wired as backup)
• PA or house sound system with an input for the mic
• Basic stage lighting or adequate room lighting so the audience can clearly see the performer
• A small stage or cleared performance area facing the audience, away from heavy foot traffic and loud bar/service areas
For weddings, corporate events, and casinos, Jason is happy to work with your DJ, venue, or AV team to plug into the existing system, coordinate music cues, and test levels before guests arrive. For private house shows or smaller parties, he can adapt to living rooms, patios, or backyard setups as long as there is access to standard power.
If your event has unique technical needs (multiple mics, projection, live band, etc.), Jason will coordinate with you in advance to make sure everything is covered. The goal is a clean, professional setup that lets guests hear clearly and focus on the show, not the equipment.

Influences and inspiration

Influence-wise, Jason is drawn to comedians who combine sharp writing, strong crowd work, and a conversational, storytelling style. Acts who can make a room feel like they’re hanging out with a very funny friend have shaped the way he approaches both stand-up and MC work.
From an MC and announcer standpoint, Jason takes inspiration from iconic voices like Michael Buffer and other major sports, TV, and event hosts who know how to build anticipation, land big introductions, and keep the spotlight on the moment rather than on themselves. He is especially influenced by hosts who balance precision and hype, using timing, tone, and presence to make every introduction feel important and every announcement feel exciting.
That mix of craftsmanship and looseness is what Jason aims to bring to every set and every event he works, whether it’s a club show, casino night, corporate event, or wedding.
