James Curtis, Stand Up Comedian

Based in Oklahoma City, James Curtis is a stand-up comedian known for sharp one-liners, dark absurdism, and an offbeat perspective that bridges the gap between lowbrow and highbrow comedy. Drawing inspiration from Steven Wright, Mitch Hedberg, Emo Philips, and classic horror-comic storytelling, Curtis delivers an hour of original material combining tightly written jokes, crowd work, and stories that somehow make childhood trauma sound nostalgic.

James began performing stand-up in 2011 and quickly became a fixture throughout Oklahoma and the Midwest. He has appeared at the Blue Whale Comedy Festival in Tulsa and headlined the independent Outsiders Comedy Tour, performing at more than twenty-five venues across the region. He has also opened for Brian Posehn and produced numerous showcase events and independent comedy shows.

In addition to stand-up, James writes comedy sketches and performs music under the alter-ego Colton Fulton, an eccentric prog-rock musician whose increasingly questionable career choices have developed a cult following of their own.
