J Train is an experienced, versatile, highly professional musical ensemble with repertoire from The Great American Songbook up to and including the toe-tapping pop hits of the 1960s and 1970s. The instrumental quartet (tenor sax, piano, bass, and drums) is fronted by an excellent male vocalist. The group is also available in different configurations: solo piano or guitar, jazz duo or trio, jazz quartet without vocals, etc. We work closely with clients to ensure that they get exactly the musical experience that perfectly complements their special event.

We are communicative, prompt, and aways dressed appropriately for the setting and event. We are never too loud. We are safety focused (maybe from the lawyers in the band!). Audiences tell us that we have a relaxed, fun vibe that translates to them. We make sure everyone has a good time. Our singer is particularly good at getting audiences to sing along with us when we get to the chorus of well-known pop tunes!
J Train is a collaboration of experienced musicians in the DC area. Several of us live in Montgomery County, MD and several live in NoVa. We are versatile, professional and experienced. We tend to come from a jazz background, but we also enjoy performing the toe-tapping party/dance tunes from the 1960s and 1970s. The group includes a medical doctor and two lawyers. We like to work closely with clients to make sure that they get exactly the musical complement they want for their special event. We've played venues ranging from house parties to restaurants and clubs, events ranging from weddings to anniversaries and significant birthday celebrations, and we've performed for corporate audiences at the Arts Club of Washington, the International Trade Center and the Hillwood Estate Museum.
