I play various styles from Classical Guitar, Jazz, Flamenco, Improvisatory, and original compositions. I am open to casual events and weddings and can make original arrangements of pop music. If needed, I can also bring instrumental or vocal collaborators.

He provided a gorgeous selection of classical covers of pop songs throughout the ages, and was enjoyed by all. He was friendly, chatting with folks and professional. Would absolutely hire him again for another dinner party!

A Fort Worth native from a lineage of musicians, Guitarist Ivan Duran Aguayo brings high quality work to everything he does. Armed with powerful knowledge from top-tier artists, Ivan strives to impart those first class tools and skills upon others despite a rigorous schedule of teaching and concertizing. His musical training began at the age of 11 which had rapidly developed to state level recognition. He then later studied and obtained a Bachelors of Music Performance with a focus in Classical Guitar at Southern Methodist University (SMU) under the instruction of Robert Guthrie and Dr. Michael J. Morey. Ivan has participated in various masterclasses and high-level instruction of guitarists like Sergio Assad, Michael Morey, and Martin Pedreira (A former student of Leo Brouwer), and more.
Ivan has musical training in Jazz, Flamenco, Rock, Mariachi, and Classical Guitar as well as Music Composition. He has premiered his compositions at SMU and Tarrant County College, and has performed in various concert series including: The City of North Richland Hills Grand Hall, City of Keller Town Hall, City of Fort Worth Public Arts Gallery, The Carillon Gallery, Cedar Hill Town Hall, City of Grapevine Harvest Hall, the Mundo Latino Stage at the State Fair of Texas, was a featured teaching artist for the Rojas School of Music, a featured artist of the Consulate of Mexico, and solo premiered compositions in Texas Christian University’s Van Cliburn Hall.
Ivan is also the co-founder and director of Media Tech/Press of the Texas Guitar Society (TGS), a fast-growing musician community in Texas. Alongside his team, TGS generates a super-network connecting musicians to resources procuring multiple musician concerts and events in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex.
Performances are high-quality. I have a PA system and personal lighting so no requirements needed other than mains power and a chair. I want to make sure YOU DON'T have to worry about accommodating me so you could relax and focus on your event while I provide the ambiance!
