What to expect
My relationship with a couple starts with their initial contact with me--either email, text, or phone call--after seeing information about me. I respond quickly, and let the couple know I'm interested in getting to know more about them and their ideal wedding ceremony. Setting up a phone call or video call usually comes next where I go through my questions and they ask theirs. If they are interested in hiring me, I request a non-refundable deposit and completion of my wedding service agreement. Once I receive both of those, I'm their Officiant.
If the ceremony is at least a few months out, I'll design some sample ceremonies based on the information they've given me, then send them via email for their review and discussion. We work together to pick out parts they like and begin the framework for their final ceremony. I will work with them to continue refining it until it's exactly what the envisioned for their wedding. They will have a copy of their final ceremony at least two weeks before their wedding date. At that time, the balance is due.
On their wedding day, barring any crazy outside influences, I am about an hour early. My first stop is to let the couple know I'm there so they can have peace of mind that they will definitely be getting married. Next, I like to meet the Wedding Coordinator and other professionals that I'll be working with, and test the sound equipment. And depending on the guests attending, that's my opportunity to mingle.
Once the ceremony is finished, the couple has kissed, and guests are exiting, I complete the marriage license with necessary witnesses (if needed, depending on the state). I'll smile at the couple, blow them kisses, and take the paperwork with me to be mailed to the appropriate office in the township/city where they are married. I always appreciate reviews left on my websites, and respond quickly to them.
About
My background is in Human Resources and working with both adults and children with special needs. I’ve always believed that no organization can truly be excellent unless its employees are treated with care and respect. I’m a people person through and through—but my love isn’t just for people. I’m also a huge animal lover and have rescued many senior dogs, making sure their final chapter in life is filled with love and comfort.
I believe in the goodness of people, but I also know that tending to our spiritual side is just as important. I’m an ordained Chaplain—a journey that involved two years in seminary and another two years working closely with my church leadership team. For several years, I served as a hospital Chaplain, supporting people in some of the most difficult, painful, and frightening moments of their lives. While my work is rooted in spirituality, I also officiate weddings for couples who prefer a ceremony without religious or spiritual elements—because at its core, love itself is deeply spiritual.
After becoming ordained in 2016, a friend asked me to officiate her son's wedding, and it was a life-changing experience for me. The joy I felt was palpable! That very day, another couple approached me to officiate their wedding as well. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of walking with 140 couples as they begin their new chapter together. Now, I’m excited to dedicate myself to this beautiful work full-time!
I’m new to GigSalad, but you can find my reviews and awards on my website, WW, and on Google—so far, I’ve been honored with only 5-star reviews. Let’s connect—I’d love to be part of your special day!
Additional booking notes
Naturally, I need to have your marriage license in my hands prior to the ceremony beginning. Also, unless your ceremony has 20 or fewer guests, I request sound equipment. I do have a headset microphone for smaller weddings. Also, if you wish to have a ceremony within yours like a unity candle-lighting or sand ceremony, you would provide all the elements needed.
Services offered
Setup requirements
