Hope Flood is one of the fastest rising "Keeping it Real" comediennes on the Laff circuit today. Her appeal is universal due to the everyday life experiences she talks about; whether its male/female relationships,politics,love, lust, motherhood,or just surviving in the "New Millennium." Her thought provoking political and spiritual commentary keep audiences on the edge of their seats thirsting for more.
A God fearing,single mother,comedian,actor,producer,promoter,philanthropist, publisher (of the first nationally distributed comedy magazine) and more recently On-air radio personality.
Hope has been in the business for over 25years and has produced weekly showcases that helped launch the careers of many successful comedians from Jamie Foxx to Chris Tucker. She's also been featured in the best selling comedy book and album entitled "SNAPS,"and has headlined some of the most well known comedy clubs in the world.
A semi-finalist in the "Old English 800 Women's Comedy Crunch," and a two time semi-finalist in the "Bay Area Comedy Competition" are just some of the accomplishments of this multi talented artist. Her talent has taken her on a European comedy tour, including the U.S. Virgin Islands,Bahamas,Jamaica, and Alaska.
After years of touring Hope relocated from Los Angeles to Dallas, Tx to expand her talent to radio,(after being handpicked by a local Dj BJ Murphy of the top morning show in Charlotte), as a side kick on his show called, "BJ IN THE MORNING ON 105.7 KRNB." She took the city by surprise with her "Out of the Box" jokes and unconventional views and the ratings from a .09 to a 2.4 in less than two years.
Appearances on Russell Simmons, "HBO ALL STAR DEF COMEDY JAM,"ten seasons of "BET'S COMICVIEW," where she won her own one hour "Grandstand Comedy Jam Special." Hope was later picked as Bet's 39 most favorite comics. "COMEDY CENTRAL'S COMIC GROOVE" hosted by Tracey Morgan,the late nite series "COMICS UNLEASHED" w/Byron Allen and was one of the only two female comedians in the country picked for the 2009 season of "MARTIN LAWRENCE PRESENTS THE 1ST AMENDMENT STAND-UP on the Starz cable network hosted by Doug Williams.
More recently she has appeared on the Wendy Williams Show as one of her "HOT TOPIC" panelists.
Hope is not stranger to the stage or the big screen having performed in the NAACP award nominated play "CULTURE SHOCK," the "KEN SAGOES & FRIENDS VARIETY SHOW," and director John Singleton's movie "BABY BOY" is just starters.
Even though Hope is a rising star she will never allow success to prevent her reaching back. She is the Ceo/Founder of several organizations including "A NICKEL OF HOPE, INC." her non-profit organization which features "HOPE'S GIRLZ CLUB" a mentoring program for at-risk girls in the community. "THE FEMALES IN COMEDY ASSOCIATION (FICA)" & THE FEMALES IN COMEDY CONVENTION which she produces every year in Los Angeles.
